Hmm, not sure what to talk about but the obvious would be this health-care bill that they finally got the Republican Nelson to agree to...

I'm not sure how I feel about this. It doesn't sound like it helps me or my mom. It appears that they'd want me to sign up for Medicaid again and is it a better Medicaid or the same one that kicks people off willnilly?

Now community clinics is a good idea. I've always thought that it should be like it was in college. In college, we paid a fee included in the student fee and that entitled us to free health care like being treated for bronchitis or gonorrhea with other things like Meningitis shots or gynecological exams for a nominal fee that was still way lower than a doctor's fee for just seeing you any place else.

However, this was done by promising Republican Nelson how no money would be used for abortions and if it's similar wording to the Stupak agreement...you couldn't use your private money either if you were on a public plan.

Excuse me? Republican Nelson is a man. If I don't go around telling men what they can do with their penises, he shouldn't be allowed to tell me what I can do with my uterus.

Sometimes, an abortion is the only option between a woman and death and if that woman dies, the baby would die anyway so why are they being so fricking stubborn?

All in all, I suppose it's a step but I'm not sure how much it's going to solve the problem of all of us without healthcare or the fact that women's health is so ill-regarded in this nation. We need universal healthcare and we need people to realize that religion was never intended by the founding fathers to force us to live a certain way, including our healthcare. Otherwise, they would have determined a national religion and they didn't because they knew everyone should be free to make that decision for themselves.

Yeah, it looks like they took out most of the stuff people wanted in the first place. So now it's not even the healthcare bill that went through in the first place...it's just watered down.
At least kids with preexisting conditions get covered now.

And I think with abortion they should just make exceptions fro women whose lives are at stake.

But really, I don't think either side has it completely right on this issue. The Democrats have problems with their ideas, and the Republicans have problems with theirs. :/
