So still no confirmed Dr. Strange actor...

I know we should be hearing about Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Danny Rand any day now.

I also know that the Internet and Terry Crews seem to want Terry Crews as Luke Cage.

I can't agree to this. I think it's problematic.
Crews is 46 and looks at least 40. This would be fine except for Jessica Jones.

Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are normally around 20. Of course, we could have Terry Crews as Luke with a much younger actress for Jessica Jones but then, people might feel he's taking advantage of her by being so much older.

Okay, let's make both Jessica and Luke older...which would make a lot of the viewing audience think they were way too old for one-time unprotected sex resulting in a child.

Thus, Jessica and Luke should remain in that 20-25 range. ..maybe they could do the storyline from Ultimate Spider-Man where his parents are found alive and his dad could be Terry Crews?

One of the quickest ways to piss me off in a Fandom discussion is to say that we won't see Miles Morales on the big screen in the next thirty years...this comment has been said to me MULTIPLE times!

Don't let a Disney XD animated series be more progressive than the actual films!

If I am thinking of the same character from a few old comics when I was a kid, I didn't picture Dr. Strange as a 20 something. I thought he was a middle aged white guy?
Can I assume things have changed over the years? :o

I can see Terry Crews, kinda, but mostly because he's just gorgeous... I'm biased.

In America's Top Model there's a guy called Keith who would be perfect! He's got the look (he only has one look), he's muscly, he's sexy, he'd be great. Can he act? Probably not. There my plan fails. Maybe they'll find some up and coming guy they can make into a star. No one really knew much about Chris Helmsworth before Thor, not outside of Australian soapies, anyway.

Terry Crews is a phenomenal person and very well-rounded,  have you seen his artwork?

However, apart from something like The Next Avengers, a flash forward or some other circumstance requiring an older Luke Cage, I think he's missed his window for playing Luke.

The actor who's playing Matt Murdock, their first Netflix series like Luke Cage and Jessica Jones are going to be, is Charlie Cox. I recognized the name when it was announced but couldn't place it with anything. I think the rest of the Netflix leads will be the same way.

I just wish they'd hurry up and announce who's playing Dr. Strange already! I almost don't even care who they pick anymore--I just want all the speculation to end! Especially since the recent names being thrown around have almost all been really awesome, so I feel like I'm getting my hopes too high and I don't want to be disappointed. Really the only person who's been mentioned that I don't want in the role is Joaquin Phoenix, so I was really really glad when he turned it down. Of the other people mentioned, I guess I'd be most partial to Ethan Hawke, since he's about the right age, looks more or less the part, and doesn't have any other big genre role to his name. (My personal pick is Tom Mison, but I know they'd never go for him. But I can dream! ;))

I'm still hoping for someone not so Caucasian but that doesn't appear to be what they're going for...
I know the original comic character was a male Caucasian but unlike Steve Rogers or Tony Stark, his cultural and racial identity doesn't really play a big part in who he is as a person.

Yes, I couldn't really see Joaquin Phoenix or Jared Leto in that role. I think Ethan Hawke could be neat but he needs the right kind of director to challenge him or his acting isn't as good as it could be. I've been a bit surprised at some of the names mentioned because I assumed they would aim for 30-35 because they do seem to be casting lately with the intent in mind that this is a 7-15 year role.

Ah, you're a Sleepy Hollow fan through and through, lol. I went to look up what else he'd done and realized what might have been another hang-up I had with the series. Previously, he was on Lost in Austen which I ADORE! but I didn't like his Bingley, lol.

Then again, I was just telling someone how I would love Manish Dayal as Stephen which won't happen either.

The biggest reason I'm rooting for Ethan Hawke is because he doesn't have a big genre role to his name. Like, Keanu would be great, but he's already got Neo, Ewan's got Obi-Wan, etc. Though I'd love to see either of them as Dr. Strange, don't get me wrong!

Ha ha, yeah I do like Sleepy Hollow. How'd you guess? :P Actually, I must confess that my Mom--who has become a huge Dr. Strange fan in the last 2 years--is the one who really wants to see Tom Mison get the role. But I totally agree with her. And wow, I saw Lost in Austen years ago, but I don't remember him as Bingley at all! I think the only person I really remember being in there was Gemma Arterton.
