He and Julien are probably the best. The Penguins look odd. My mom didn't like them at all.

Ahh, that's why I didn't recognize them. I haven't seen the Madagascar movies. :p

I'd skip those films and just watch Penguins of Madagascar,

I'm an animation snob, if it's not Disney... LOL...

I used to be that way since The Land Before Time,
[Error: Irreparable invalid markup ('<b.an>') in entry. Owner must fix manually. Raw contents below.]

I used to be that way since The Land Before Time, <b.An American Tail, All Dogs to Heaven and others were cute and okay but not...Disney level.

However, then Eisner made Ketzenberg leave and form Dreamworks. This was Katzenberg who was responsible for all the great Disney films from 1988 onwards through 1994.

Yeah, Antz was a ripoff of A Bug's Life but then there was Shrek which finally felt like they had found their mark.

Although before Shrek, they had Brenda Chapman who Disney later hired for Brave and Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio who would later make Disney billions of dollars by scripting the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Then, there's the defection of Chris Sanders. Sanders gave Disney its biggest animated cash cow of the 2000s before Cars came along...Stitch the Alien. Now, he's also responsible for creating Toothless the dragon for Dreamworks.

So to me, Dreamworks IS Disney quality. Penguins of Madagascar is a fun caper, similar to The Rescuers or The Incredibles.

However, Dreamworks also helped me outgrow that snobbery which is great because there are lots of awesome films out there like The Secret of Kells and The Triplets of Belleville.

I don't know if mine is completely about quality. Although that was a big part I think. I really like The Secret of NIMH, but it is one of a very few non Disney movies I like.
It's just like other products for me. Peanut butter has to be Skippy. Raisin Bran has to be Kelloggs. Toothpaste has to be Crest. lol...

Do you a pic of The Penguins?

I don't seem to have any good photos of the penguins...one of them always seems to be turned away. However, this person recorded the whole show...it's like twenty minutes.

I only watched a little bit, but they look fine to me. Alex's mane looks strange, though, like he's wearing a hoodie. XDDD
