Who Captain America Really Is

Let's face it...when a character has been unleashed on the world. There's not much the original creator can do about it especially if they're dead.

Can Shakespeare be asked if Juliet can be played by a "Moor"? Nope.
Can Jane Austen be asked if turning Emma into a valley girl is offensive? Nope.
Can Tolkien be asked if he objects to an implied relationship between Galadriel and Gandalf? Nope.

We can do it whatever we want and some people get more of a legitimate license to do whatever they want to certain properties. Then, the rest of us get to decide whether we think that works or is believable.

However, what Marvel did...I think 98% of us can agree that Marvel wanted to steal DC's thunder from Rebirth and you know what the saddest part is?
It worked. Hardly anyone's talking about Rebirth even though it sounds so much better than that New 52 thing and there's an 81 page comic for 2.99! You can't even get a brand new 81 page book for $2.99!

Now, the thing that must be understood is that no matter Marvel has done, no matter what they do in the future...
They can NOT take away how much Steve Rogers has positively influenced everyone around him, how they wanted to be better people because of him and how they took up that shield to honor him. All of that can never be taken away or undone.

I honestly thought that America Chavez was revealed to be a Captain America in one of those "30 years later..." things but I couldn't find anything for sure but still...



So, people are fine to say whatever they think but when they say Captain America is evil, that seems kind of insulting to everyone else who has taken up that shield. One man's actions should not negate the good deeds done by everyone else with that name.

What they did is disgusting! I don't even read the comics and I'm appalled. All the poor kids for whom this comics mattered so much have lost their hero. It makes no sense. And how can they do that while they have Sam as Cap in another run?

I have to admit, I am surprised the Repubs haven't called for a boycott of Marvel. :o
I just really hope they keep it in the comics and don't try to pull that into the movies. :o

What they did is just unforgivable - Captain America is a hero, and in no way a part of Hydra, regardless of what the comics say.

I think Cap. is just being controlled by Red Skull using Professor X's powers that he stole. But either way he definitely made an impact. Steve Rogers is the man that makes you want to be the best you can be.

I hate all those body switching/whatever stories...like when it was Peter Parker's body but it was actually Doc Ock...
