Tall Ships are Coming

Actually, the tall ships came and went, but I was able to see them. Look how tall it is compared to the Carnival Inspiration!



However, the free tour for this ship now owned by the Coast Guard had an hour wait. If I'm going to wait in line for an hour, there better be animatronic pirates or a sheer drop when I'm done.

So, we looked at the other ships.



The other two had a ten dollar fee to tour them which we didn't pay and didn't seem worth it from what we overheard.



I was just as happy staying on the dock and looking at them. Look how huge their flag is!



We also checked out the Jose Gasparilla which my mom had never seen up close before.



It's supposed to be an annual thing.

Yes, but the coast guard ship is so worth it for the pix. Especially if you all are dressed as pirates! (I worked a tall ships event in Tampa back in... oh.. I think it was 2002. We were hired to provide atmosphere, and we did, in all our pirately glory. This was pre-PotC.)

Aww, no pirates this time. I'm not even sure anyone else was wearing their POTC shirt like I was.

I did like seeing them and taking pics from the dock.
