Ooh, also, Zack was funny last night, he didn't know I was a hippie!!
"But you can't be a hippie! You don't smoke pot or wear a lot of hemp."
"I'm allergic to hemp, but I'm about as liberal as you can get."
"Oh...right."
(Zack wearing frowny face as though being a hippie means that I'm evil.)
ON WITH THE EPISODES!!!
10. En Ami
I love the conversation between Cigarette Smoking Man and Scully in the car. Another introspective show where Scully has to think about who and what matters most to her.
9.Rain King
Mulder and Scully have to play matchmaker for a lovelorn weatherman who afterwards suggests "You two should try it sometime." Plus, it's a whole episode where no one dies...except for the cow, but I'd like to think the cow had a good life before the freak tornado picked it up and chucked it onto the motel where Mulder and Scully were staying.
8. Dreamland II
Michael McKean + Nora Dunn = Score! Yes, I have a fondness for SNL actors from the 1980s. I also rated it above the first part since the second part is when things get really interesting with the swap. It even saved a marriage.
7. Deep Throat
Seth Green on X-Files!!! However, he's very grungy and has long hair to his shoulders, but still...Yay!! It's also the very second episode ever so they're still unsure of each other and I loved the Uncle Fester comment.
6. Three of a Kind
I'm also a sucker for the Lone Gunmen and love the few episodes that revolved around them...poor Byers, I really wanted him to get the girl.
5. Unusual Suspects
Crossover with Homocide, Mulder with a wedding ring, Byers first discovering that there are...conspiracies! The formation of the Lone Gunmen!! What's not to like? Well, except for the lack of Scully, but it does take place in '89 so that's to be expected.
4. Triangle
Why? Puddintame, ask me again and I'll tell you the same. Okay, so this episode's claim to fame is a gimmick, several actually, first episode to be in widescreen, consisting of several scenes that were one long take and the very first kiss between Mulder and Scully that totally didn't count.
It's also the Bermuda Triangle! Wonder why "all the nuts roll down to Florida"? This is partially why. Our east coast forms part of the Bermuda Triangle.
3. Eve
Creepy girls, creepy girls and Mulder and Scully are temporarily supposed to act all...parental around them. There's something about creepy children that usually leads to good television like the The Empty Child/Doctor Dances two-parter from Dr Who.
2. Small Potatoes
A woman claims to have given birth to the child of Luke Skywalker!! Of course, it isn't but the truth is almost as good and played by Darin Morgan, proving that not only is he a great writer, but he acts well, too.
1. Requiem
Perfect, just perfect, I wish this had been the show's ending. Mulder gets abducted by the aliens and Scully is miraculously pregnant although from the pillow talk earlier, we can all guess who the father is.
Plus, we find out what happened to everyone from the very first episode!!
Before I had my own computer, I admit that I hand-transcribed the whole episode on notebook paper so I could read it whenever I wanted.
Ok, I lied, here's 11-20.
11. Fight the Future
12. E.B.E.
13. Hollywood A.D.
14. Dreamland
15. One Breath
16. Detour
17. Ascension
18. Beyond the Sea
19. How the Ghosts Stole Christmas
20. The Erlenmeyer Flask

Bull shite!
Date: 2008-01-06 03:46 am (UTC)What about 'Bad Blood?' you've named alot of the campy/bad comedy episodes, but this one was KING! I mean, Mulder sings, Scully bitches, and Luke Wilson plays suave and hick-ish at the same time...
War of the Coprophages! (I don't feel like looking up the correct spelling of that episode's title. Sue me if it's wrong.) That was some sexxxy bug action with a Seth Green look-alike, and all.
Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose? The late great Peter Boyle tells Mulder he'll die of autoerotic asphyxiation? Huh!
Humbug. Gibsonton crazies (where's your home-area pride for the tale of JimJim, the Dog Faced Boy?)
Post Modern Prometheus? Cher Obsession in b&w, anyone?
Lastly, Rain King and Unusual Suspects are just painful for me to watch...painful.
Re: Bull shite!
Date: 2008-01-06 04:20 am (UTC)Clyde did some good moments, like what Mulder will die of and that Scully apparently...doesn't but it just didn't make my top twenty.
I like Humbug but it was still filmed in Canada and I have two other Florida related shows on the list: Triangle and Detour.
If you didn't like mine, where's yours then?
