What happens to 23 year old Playdoh when you basically forget it's even there for ten years?

Apparently, it grows crystals.


That color was red and this used to be yellow.

Cool! I used to love playdoh when I was little. Bit of a shame it's all turned murky brown, but the crystals are great!

Thanks to pktaxwench's comment, I believe it has to do with Playdoh having salt as an ingredient combined with us liberally adding water to it over the years to keep it pliable and then leaving it alone in a semi-dry environment.

I saw the word 'Playdoh' and practically did backflips. I flaming well love Playdoh. :) And it's awesome (if slightly weird) that it does that.
