Christmas, Part Two
Dec. 27th, 2010 11:20 pmI've had such a good weekend! I've seen six films in four days at four different theatres.
The King's Speech...wow. This was amazing. If Colin Firth doesn't win the Oscar for this after he was robbed last year...well, I doubt I'll be able to quit them, BUT I will give them the evil eye! He stutters, he rages, he cries, what more could they want?
I Love You, Phillip Morris...this was okay. It's by the Bad Santa people and is the same caliber just with prettier people.
Dr Who I want a flying shark for all my transportation needs! I missed Amy and Rory though. Also, I have a new life-time goal: MUST ATTEND DOCTOR WHO PROM!!!
Gulliver's Travels was very cute. I thought there would be more Catherine Tate but James Corden was very handsome in his fancy clothes.
Voyage of the Dawn Treader was a lot better than the last one: less dark and Ben Barnes with facial hair=yum! The ending was a little sad though, I wonder if they'll do a fourth one. It seemed to have a finality to it.

I loved the Doctor Who Christmas special a lot. :D And what little Amy and Rory were present was fantastic, particularly their, ah, clothing choices.
Also, in all seriousness, I think it inspired me to live in a way that, if I were to meet my eight-year-old self, I wouldn't be ashamed to show them how I turned out. /dork

Date: 2010-12-28 07:32 pm (UTC)Narnia-Voyage--was just okay. I think they should call it quits about making anymore. I read reviews that seeing it in 3D was a waste of money and I believe it. I saw it in 2D.
True Grit--Excellent--little sad at the ending.
The Fighter-Also very good.

Date: 2011-01-02 03:22 pm (UTC)I was super lucky to go to the last one, only because I had a crazy friend who stayed up all night and refreshed the ticket website until he was able to buy me and 5 of my friends tickets.
They sold out in about 15 minutes, and the tickets we got were at the top.
But you can also attempt on the day, but you need a lot of patience and some luck... I had another friend to this, he started lining up around 9am that morning (show was at 7.30pm) to buy tickets on the door.
He managed to get in but thus had to stand all through the show.
Good luck!
