Here are my personal rules: Films must be seen in a theatre between 12:01 AM on January 1, 2010 and 11:59 PM on December 31, 2010. Films cannot have been listed on a previous year.

Every year people claim that year was especially weak for film. This year, they're saying it again and I think they're nuts. I had a really hard time narrowing down my choices so that I think all twenty films are worth the ticket or rent or download.

Favorite Movies for 2010

1. The Sing-a-long Mary Poppins
2. The Sorcerer's Apprentice
3. Tangled
4. The King's Speech
5. Today's Special
6. Nowhere Boy
7. How to Train Your Dragon
8. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
9. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part One
10. MegaMind
11. Toy Story 3
12. Kick-Ass
13. Iron Man 2
14. The Young Victoria
15. True Grit
16. Burlesque
17. The Fighter
18. The Secret of Kells
19. A Single Man
20. Winter's Bone

Now, some people have expressed annoyance at having to watch someone stutter in a film about a stutterer. I try to be understanding but the film is a bit personal to me. Through school, I had speech lessons for nine years. I didn't stutter but there were others who did and I definitely empathize with him for others making fun of him because of how he talks and how difficult it can be to change it.

Again, if Colin Firth doesn't win an Oscar, they don't know superb acting when they see it.

Whaaat? "some people have expressed annoyance at having to watch someone stutter in a film about a stutterer." Your kidding me? That's the whole point of the story.

Its got to be one of the best films I've seen in the last five years.
