I've only been watching TW since '09 and for all it's mature portrayals of adult relationships, I was disappointed that the most explicit scene of Jack and Ianto was of snogging and groping in the hothouse. Admittedly I just wanted to see those two hotties really get it on! ;) There are rumors of hot mansex for Jack in the next series and I hope it happens but I'm sad it's not gonna be with Ianto...

I think they were on the verge of a deeper relationship. Jack must've sensed it because why would he have protested the word "couple" so much? It's too bad he was being typical Jack and not realizing how much he was hurting Ianto. Interpret what you will why Jack said "don't" but I think it was because he did love Ianto and thought if he actually said the words having Ianto slip away in his arms would've been all the more painful. *sigh* Sorry, I tend to ramble on when it comes to those boys! Good thing there's fanfic, huh? ;)

I absolutely agree with all you said. You sound like me. I am SO mad at Jack for hurting Ianto so much and Ianto when Ianto seemed to love Jack unconditionally in COE and well it was obvious too in Season 2. Have you seen Season 1 then? It was good too. I never saw them on TV. Found out about then from someone on LJ and checked it out at YouTube. Oh I had to buy them!

I agree that Jack loved Ianto even at the end. I think you are right about when Jack said "don't" I think it would hurt him even more to have to say it back. He was already hurting to lose "his lover" as I see it.

...that I really think was the truth about Jack & Ianto's love and the "kind" of love I think Jack had for Gwen. (I know off the subject a little) I believe there are all kinds of love. Even if you don't like Gwen, I think you will like this video. It made me cry and covers the word "don't". It is hard to hear it so turn up your speakers on that part. The maker of the video had a little trouble with the volume of it and the music. You'll know when you watch it. You may have seen it.

Thanks for the YouTube link! I may have seen it already but I wouldn't mind seeing it again! ;) I have my issues with Gwen but I did like her in CoE and I hope her character keeps developing for the better in Miracle Day. I must admit this whole thing about Jack's "unstated love" for her makes me a bit queasy...

I'm a fairly new fan myself: I'd heard about it from my uncle but didn't watch until I finally decided to rent CoE on DVD. (Haven't seen it on TV either, our cable package doesn't have BBC America.) I went a bit backwards but yes, I do have all the series box sets now. :)

I know something about Gwen and Jack especially at her wedding at the end when Jack dance with her really bothered me. She was already married to Rhys and was still looking at Jack in some weird/romantic?...way. Then sort of treats Ianto like he's in second place or at least it seemed that way to me.

Oh I love all the Star Wars movies too! Though I must admit I REALLY loved the 3 with Luke, Leia, and Han Solo. :) Even with less affects, I so fell in love with the characters. I still love them. I saw those all in the theaters starting at age 12 or 13...tells you how old I am! lol! The last three or first three actually...geez so confusing, I saw at the theaters too. I have all the Star Wars DVD's too.

Yeah it bugs both me and my mom how she'd still be all cow-eyed at Jack even though he was with Ianto and she was marrying Rhys. Jack's a bit at fault here, too. I also thought Gwen was a bit snarky about Ianto. Poor guy was getting hurt by both of them. Amazing how he just didn't go off on them! I guess he knew Jack was just too honorable to get with Gwen...

Yeah I still mourn no explicit Janto mansex but we gotta bear in mind Miracle Day is two years after CoE and it's unrealistic to think Jack would be living as a monk all this time. I sounds like the Jack we all know and love but I hope he isn't regressing as a character after the way he's developed over the years. I would hope JB is making sure he doesn't. It's not known for sure if he'll be naked on screen but I'm hoping for it because I think he's gorgeous and I love him so much! ;D

I have all the SW DVDs (except the Clone Wars box sets) too. I love the entire saga and The Clone Wars but I do think the original trilogy is the best. I like Revenge of the Sith the best of the prequel trilogy. Anakin/Darth Vader is my favorite character and I think Hayden Christensen did such a fine job in that.

I've been reading The Captain!Verse of Jack/Doctor (going into Jack/Doctor/Ianto) fic by

scifiangel and one of the multi-part stories is a really clever crossover with SW! I think you might like it but it's a good idea to read all the stories from the beginning. You'll see the master list if you click on the link. She's a Jack/Ianto shipper but thought it would be different to write Jack/Doctor. I'm picky about Jack/Doctor but do like Jack/Ianto/Doctor. I'm also a fan of

teachwriteslash's Un-Verse which develops into that threesome.

I'm actually working out ideas for my own TW/SW crossover: It keeps changing but the constant is that it will have Ianto as a Jedi Knight. Well when I said I like smut it was usually between Jack & Ianto. I haven't read crossovers yet. I mean I tried to but it was a little weird to me, not to say I won't get into them eventually. I want to buy all the ones that included Jack especially the one with Ianto and Gwen after the others on TW have died and then there is a second part too. The first part I know is called "The Stolen Earth." Don't tell me too much about them because I want to be surprised, but I must admit I have watched parts of them on Youtube.

I'm usually strictly Jack/Ianto but

scifiangel's such a good writer she sold me on Jack with the Doctor. Besides, it does develop into Jack/Doctor/Ianto! ;) I'm still pretty picky about Jack being paired with other characters: The only other shipper fics I like are Jack/Rose. I've read a few Jack/real!Jack fics and even though I loved that episode, I'm a bit twitchy about fics with them in a relationship. I'm very anti-Gwack but a few of my friends are Gwack shippers: We agree to disagree! I'm not into Ianto/Owen either! Now Ianto/Tosh is intriguing but I haven't sampled any of those fics yet. I did read one very hot threesome fic with Jack, Ianto, and Tosh! *fans self* There was also a sizzling one with Jack, Ianto, and Martha that I enjoyed. (Bees and Brews wrote that one.)

I was hooked on X-Files back in the day! I'm sad to say I didn't see the last movie. I don't think it did very well so I'm afraid we may not see any more... :( I love how Andy calls Jack and Gwen "Mulder and Scully"! LOL

I'd seen Doctor Who a few times on Syfy but Jack made me want to see the whole series! Syfy doen't play the Jack episodes much. :( Right now we're getting the Jack episodes from Netflix.) He's actually on very few of them overall but he appears in series 1, 3, and 4. Series 4 has "Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End" which is my favorite because not only is the whole gang (including Ianto and Gwen) there, it's just so epic! (There's a cool vid on YouTube where someone laid Star Wars music over parts of those episodes!) That arc with the Master is also great but I did mention how twitchy I am about it because of what Jack went through and I also thought the Doctor was initally very shitty to him. (Like Ianto, I'm very protective of Jack!) Hope I didn't spoil you too much...

I initially signed up with LJ because I was in the middle of readng the Un-Verse and Teach had flocked her journal. I had joined just to read fic, maybe make some new friends and put up and occasional post about my fandoms or what's going on in my life. I wasn't even sure I'd be posting fic but it was the encouragement of my new friends that prompted me to try. I'm really glad I took the plunge because I've been able to connect with and befriend fellow fans who've been very lovely and supportive! :D It is very hard to find friends who like the same things you do and it's so nice to either chat about those things or vent about your worries in life...

Actually, many of the newer Dr Who seasons either correspond with Torchwood and/or have Jack. Even The Sarah Jane Adventures which is aimed at kids and tweens have aliens and objects from Torchwood.

But the thing about Ianto is he loved both of them, you could see that. Of course, he loved Jack but he also loved Gwen...the way they walked arm in arm in Sleeper, the work he put into her wedding, the fact that he went behind Jack's back for her in Adrift and when she told them she was pregnant...it was obvious he felt for her like a sister which is why I found it so bizarre when they insisted on having Rhi bitch her out and we found out Ianto had lied to her all that time...like what was the purpose there? I wished we could've seen more of his and Gwen's friendship: They clearly bonded while Jack was gone. It's interesting how he supported her in some ways since she clearly has conflicting feelings about Jack (as Jack seemed to for her). I guess he felt he wasn't one to judge since he was just as fucked up as the rest of them. I think he also had faith in Jack being too decent a man to break up Gwen and Rhys.

So, COE was your first NEW season?
