Yes, since male chicks are unwanted, they are thrown alive into a grinder.
WTF??? How is this acceptable?
Naturally, I was disgusted. I gave up eating eggs entirely except for Ben & Jerry's who have all their suppliers certified humane by Humane Farm Animal Care
Even though the group doesn't specify this practice on their website, they wrote me back an assurance that they don't allow this practice from their suppliers and a suggestion on how to prevent this atrocity in the future.

At first, I was good. I'm still pretty good, but I had cake last weekend. I felt bad about it so my mom pointed out:

Thus, I shouldn't be feeling bad about it as long it was my decision to have the cake and I wasn't pressured into it. It's also strange that this is coming from the same woman who used to try and convert me to vegetarianism by saying that by eating a hamburger, "You know you're eating one of Babe's friends."
As it happens, I haven't eaten any meat in over two weeks. It wasn't on purpose. It just happened that way. There has been one disappointment. After a month and a half of having no eggs and even less meat than usual, I weigh...exactly the same. I guess it's further proof that I need to exercise more.
On a completely different note, I hate how Paul appears to complain about vegetarians, but I LOVE how he complains about people who forbid others to marry.
Yes, I agree, forbidding marriage when two people are in love IS wrong.
