ericadawn16: (Curious)
Hmm, that's hard because there aren't a lot of websites that I go to everyday except for AOL, Yahoo, Livejournal and message boards.

Well, there is...

http://www.neopets.com/

This is me:
http://www.neopets.com/userlookup.phtml?user=erica_dawn

It's a cool site where you play games and have pets that you can dress up and feed and everything. Every year, there's an Advent Calendar with a cartoon and prizes every day in December. This is the one from my birthday on Wednesday:

Photobucket

Yay, pirates!

Day 23 → A YouTube video

Just one?

Well, that's not going to cut it. You're getting two.

First, the fun one. Christmas is All Around by Davy Jones

Now, the sad one that will make you cry. Gravedigger by Dave Matthews Band using footage from the first four Harry Potter films. It was also made BEFORE book seven, but still just as poignant...and yes, that is Robert Pattinson.

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr

It's come to my attention that many of you are not familiar with The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr starring Bruce Campbell. This includes actual entertainment reporters who will refer to Firefly as the first SciFi Western...it was not. Brisco predates it.

Brisco was this awesome Western show with SciFi elements, but also humor and action. Brisco was played by Bruce Campbell and other cast included Kelly Rutherford, John Astin,Christian Clemenson and Julius Carry. Two episodes had Terry Bradshaw and Carlton Cuse...one of the show creators who would go to help create a show called Lost.

The basic difference between Brisco and Firefly is that Brisco takes place after the Civil War in the American West. Technically, I suppose it could qualify as Victorian steampunk except I've never seen steampunk set in a non-industrialized setting.

It premiered August 7th, 1993 and I'd watch every Friday at 8 PM. As soon as it was over, I'd change the channel before "the scary show" came on. My mom would try to convince me that it probably wasn't any worse than Goosebumps but I felt it was for older people, like teenagers. It'd be five more years before I'd decide to watch The X-Files.

Still, I LOVED Brisco.

Naturally, Fox canceled it...after one season...because they're Fox.

Luckily, for you, The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr is on dvd...and someone has posted all of them on Youtube, yay! Yes, the dvd has much better picture quality.

Oh, did I neglect to mention how good looking Bruce Campbell is in this? How he was definitely one of my first crushes ever? I know some would prefer Ash with his torn shirt and machisimo, but Brisco looks just as good and can handle action just as well and the cocky smile and his interactions with the horse...not much is sexier than a man who treats an animal well and this isn't just any horse. He's EXTREMELY intelligent, hehe.

Also, here's another review which says it all much more eloquently:

Well, I can't do the week of November 25th, 2009 as intended but I can do this week.

12/12/09

-Christina's party, yay! We had a big bonfire with marshmallows and danced...macarena, YMCA, Hokey Pokey, Limbo, you name it.

12/13/09

-Went to Invictus; good movie but apparently, took some liberties with things. We each bought plush Neopets from Target afterwards: me-Baby Bruce, her-Starry Moehog.

12/14/09

-MGM Studios, woo! Yes, I can call it MGM, dammit, like I still call the "forum" the Ice Palace. It's my right for living here so long. I got my mom to ride Twilight Zone Tower of Terror...don't think that's going to happen again.

12/15/09

-Posted up a new chapter of the Torchwood story, did this and that online.

12/16/09

-my 27th birthday, woo! Very detailed birthday post to come soon, honest. All the lovely comments and messages was one of the best parts of the day.

12/17/09

-My oldest nephew had a band concert. We'd never been to the Wesley Chapel Centre for the Arts before.

12/18/09

-I added a lot of people and communities on LiveJournal that looked interesting, wrote some more on the book and looked up more family history...yes, I do have ancestors from New Jersey! lol

Umm...okay...I don't know why this meme wants to know so much about our activities, are they secretly stalkers or just couldn't think of good topics for thirty days?

First Week of December-

We went to EPCOT and Planet 51.

Second week of December-

We went to Animal Kingdom and I think I finished my books from the library.

Third week of December-

This week was covered in previous post.

Fourth Week of December-

Woohoo! Magic Kingdom on Monday, The Princess and the Frog on Tuesday, family dinner on Thursday and Christmas on Friday!

Fifth Week of December-

This will probably involve after Christmas sales and finally getting Harkin her new Jedi outfit...Harkin is my Build-a-Bear from 2001.
ericadawn16: (GrrArgh!!!)
January 2009-

We finally got a name, Matt Smith. I still find it weird that he's like six weeks younger than me, but I have faith in Steven Moffatt. We got a new president and for the first time ever, it's a president I helped to vote into office, hehe. We ate the special Ben & Jerry's flavor, Yes, Pecan! to celebrate.

I just want to remain happy and healthy and find a job to maintain that.

Hmm, not sure what to talk about but the obvious would be this health-care bill that they finally got the Republican Nelson to agree to...

I'm not sure how I feel about this. It doesn't sound like it helps me or my mom. It appears that they'd want me to sign up for Medicaid again and is it a better Medicaid or the same one that kicks people off willnilly?

Now community clinics is a good idea. I've always thought that it should be like it was in college. In college, we paid a fee included in the student fee and that entitled us to free health care like being treated for bronchitis or gonorrhea with other things like Meningitis shots or gynecological exams for a nominal fee that was still way lower than a doctor's fee for just seeing you any place else.

However, this was done by promising Republican Nelson how no money would be used for abortions and if it's similar wording to the Stupak agreement...you couldn't use your private money either if you were on a public plan.

Excuse me? Republican Nelson is a man. If I don't go around telling men what they can do with their penises, he shouldn't be allowed to tell me what I can do with my uterus.

Sometimes, an abortion is the only option between a woman and death and if that woman dies, the baby would die anyway so why are they being so fricking stubborn?

All in all, I suppose it's a step but I'm not sure how much it's going to solve the problem of all of us without healthcare or the fact that women's health is so ill-regarded in this nation. We need universal healthcare and we need people to realize that religion was never intended by the founding fathers to force us to live a certain way, including our healthcare. Otherwise, they would have determined a national religion and they didn't because they knew everyone should be free to make that decision for themselves.
