8 - How do you think Will is doing as the captain of the Flying Dutchman?
9 - If you could change one thing about any of the movies, what would it be?
10 - What’s your favorite scene from The Curse Of The Black Pearl?
11 - What’s your favorite scene from Dead Mans Chest?
12 - What’s your favorite scene from At World’s End?
13 - Jack Sparrow or Will Turner?
14 - Scene/Moment that makes you cry
15 - If you could re-cast the characters, who would they be?
16 - - Scene/Moment that makes you giggle
17 - Which historical moment or circumstance should they explore?

Here's a real letter from George Washington to the Hebrew Congregation aka the early American Jews:

To the Hebrew Congregation in Newport, Rhode Island

[Newport, R.I., 18 August 1790]

Gentlemen.

While I receive, with much satisfaction, your Address replete with expressions of affection and esteem; I rejoice in the opportunity of assuring you, that I shall always retain a grateful remembrance of the cordial welcome I experienced in my visit to Newport, [1] from all classes of Citizens.

The reflection on the days of difficulty and danger which are past is rendered the more sweet, from a consciousness that they are succeeded by days of uncommon prosperity and security. If we have wisdom to make the best use of the advantages with which we are now favored, we cannot fail, under the just administration of a good Government, to become a great and a happy people.

The Citizens of the United States of America have a right to applaud themselves for having given to mankind examples of an enlarged and liberal policy: a policy worthy of imitation. All possess alike liberty of conscience and immunities of citizenship It is now no more that toleration is spoken of, as if it was by the indulgence of one class of people, that another enjoyed the exercise of their inherent natural rights. For happily the Government of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance requires only that they who live under its protection should demean themselves as good citizens, in giving it on all occasions their effectual support.

It would be inconsistent with the frankness of my character not to avow that I am pleased with your favorable opinion of my Administration, and fervent wishes for my felicity. May the Children of the Stock of Abraham, who dwell in this land, continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other Inhabitants; while every one shall sit in safety under his own vine and figtree, and there shall be none to make him afraid. May the father of all mercies scatter light and not darkness in our paths, and make us all in our several vocations useful here, and in his own due time and way everlastingly happy.

You're supposed to make your own Figment but I didn't like seeing him so different so I just made him pink. Here's my Pigment:

Day 7 - Favorite female character and why

You can probably guess from yesterday...

TONKS!!!

First of all, she can literally kick ass. She's a freaking Auror as well as being a member of the Order of the Phoenix! She wears purple hair and punk clothes. Plus, and this is what endeared me the most, she's clumsy and I don't mean clumsy in a Bella Swan way where she lets it control her life. Tonks works around her clumsiness so she can still have a productive life. I love that.

Why yes, she did also happen to marry one of my favorite male characters...

Before Tonks was introduced, I liked McGonagall best.

Disney has a neat little feature on their website.

http://www.disneystore.com/track-my-t/mn/1001252/

You can watch your organic t-shirt from cotton tree to "YOU". It shows every single step, even the labor that they use in Honduras.

Also, House is scaring me right now...

So, The Roots are playing at Universal Orlando March 19th. I might not have known who they were 25 months ago, but I definitely have grown to know and love them as Late Night's current house band. They're awesome!

*so very tempted to find a way to go*

As funding is taken away from Planned Parenthood and other lawmakers attempt to legislate our reproductive organs, one question keeps coming to mind for me...

Where is Gloria Steinem?

I remember in 2004 when she appeared at an event in conjunction with Planned Parenthood and she spoke with such passion, such fervor about both the organization and the important role of women in politics. It was truly inspiring.

I'm not sure I've seen her since she was on The Colbert Report last year. I hope she's not sick. I know she wasn't at the Oscars but I didn't really expect her to go anyway.
ericadawn16: (Confused)
I haven't done one of these in a while. Well, I went to the library and got some books:

Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal by JK Rowling- I hope this will improve my Spanish. Employers like Spanish speakers.

Veggietales- How could I resist a tomato Sherlock Holmes?

The Three Caballeros- I forgot how fun this is, like the Latin American sequel to Fantasia.

Buffalo Girls by Larry McMurtry- Apart from the cracker westerns when I was much younger, I've never really read westerns...ever. I thought I should read at least one for work.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy- by Douglas Adams- self-explanatory...

Stardust by Neil Gaiman- Yay! Even better...it and Coraline are now rightfully in the Juvenile section instead of Adult.

The Last Apprentice (Revenge of the Witch) by Joseph Delaney and Patrick Arrasmith- Amazon keeps saying I'll like this series, we'll see...

Piratica 2 by Tanith Lee- Girl pirates, read the first one.

Also, Borders has decided to basically forsake the Tampa Bay area, but I did get some good deals...everything 25% off.

The Sorcerer's Companion: A Guide to the Magical World of Harry Potter, Third Edition by Allan Zola Kronzek and Elizabeth Kronzek- I still have the first edition I bought ten years ago.

Learn to Draw Disney/Pixar's Toy Story (Licensed Learn to Draw) by Disney Storybook Artists- It has Lotso!!!!

Ramona plush-

Me: See, it's Ramona.
Mom: Oh...from Ramona and Beezus?
Me: No... (turns over tag to show the Scott Pilgrim logo)
Mom: Oh, that Ramona...

I was also very tempted by The Mighty Book of Boosh but even on sale, it would have cost more than all three. It'll have to wait.
