So, I guess I'm kind of slow but last year, they gave out the first annual American Humane Association's Hero Dog Awards.
It went to Roselle.
On September 11, 2001, Roselle guided her blind owner down 1,463 steps in the dark of Tower One among chaos and then, across the street. When Tower Two started falling, she led her owner into a subway station for safety.
Imagine all the noise and confusion and weird smells and she was able to do all of that.
Amazing.
Unfortunately, Roselle died in June at the age of 13 but her memory will go on forever.
