You're probably familiar with movie reward cards. You rack up points from purchasing tickets and concessions until they give you free stuff.

I like free stuff.

Here's the problem:

My mom and I try to buy concessions now since that's how the movie theatres make money and we want them to stay in business...by concessions, I mean $3.75 for a large popcorn or $4.50-6.50 for a kid's meal at the chains.

She's wondering if we're being hypocritical by using the card and buying concessions...whether they negate each other. Plus, she's concerned about the amount of extra paper used to tell us point value, coupons, etc.

I'm sure some of you work for movie theatres or have worked or know someone who does.

What do you think?

P.S. Concert did not work out. I haven't done Ticketmaster in about ten years and I assumed they would be like the theatre chains...I pay online, then show up with my credit card and ID. Nope, I would have to print the ticket out. I don't have a printer, they hate me and I hate them, and the library would have been closed by the time I got off. I'm trying to be positive, there must be something even better out there on the horizon and it is a first-world problem...but it still sucks.
