MUPPETS!!!!
Aug. 28th, 2013 12:24 pmAww, I don't have a Muppets icon at the moment...
Anyway, March 2014, after Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy but before Captain America: Winter Soldier! Also, when it comes to a Muppet movie, unless you see photographic proof, don't believe anything you read so there are rumors that Tom Hiddleston makes a cameo and he definitely needs to work with the Muppets on something but I don't know for sure that he's in this.
It looks so awesome though! I think it's going to be funnier than the last one even without starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams.
Plus, Scooter! Sometimes, I miss Skeeter and how she only existed for Muppet Babies.
However, Fey's Russian accent makes me think of the The Super Hero Squad Show episode where Tony Stark asks FAKE!Natasha to say "Moose and squirrel".

Tinker Bell and Tom Hiddleston Videos
Aug. 28th, 2013 12:55 pmOkay, I didn't used to have the best feelings toward Tinker Bell. I didn't give her much thought in the original Peter Pan film, she was only a ball of light that died for a while in the Mary Martin one and in Hook...well, I thought she was kind of a bitch. The more we saw of her, she didn't seem to be very nice.
Then, we got Disney passes for a while and we'd both had worked customer service more and...
She didn't seem so awful. Tinker Bell was more self assure and went after what she wanted without letting people tell her what to do. My mom began collecting Tinker Bell and they had started making new films.
The first film, Tinker Bell, had awesome celebrity voices and I thought it could be good...I couldn't make it past fifteen minutes. It was so boring and awful.
Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue looked a lot better and my mom maintained it was so I was psyched for Secret of the Wings. I loved that one aside from a few plot conveniences so I would have been ecstatic for Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy just from the title alone.
Then, you tell me that the pirate fairy is played by Christina Hendricks aka Saffron and she's BFFs with Cabin Boy James aka the future Captain Hook and he's played by Tom Hiddleston?
*dead*
Here's both of them at D23, the sound quality is bad for a lot of it but not for when he sings "Bare Necessities".
If you haven't seen the 1883 photoshoot video and you're a Tom Hiddleston fan, yeah, you should:

Peter Capaldi, Part One
Aug. 28th, 2013 01:10 pmYou didn't honestly think I was done posting Peter Capaldi, clips, did you? Especially when I spend three hours looking for more age appropriate clips to show my nephews?
( Yeah, some of these are not those age appropriate clips. )
( This is from 1984 or 1986 and you must see it for the HAIR! THE HAIR!!!!! )
( Look, it's Twelve and Kazran or how I prefer to think of it, Twelve and Dumbledore! )

Peter Capaldi clips, Part Two
Aug. 28th, 2013 01:18 pmWhat a dork. ( lol )
Oh yes, what we want all our men to do at some point...dress up as a woman...( he doesn't do it too badly either... )
( How did I not know Mitchell and Webb had a movie? )
( And this is just hilarious: )
I hope the rumor comes true about using his real accent as Twelve.

Jack Harkness Vid
Aug. 28th, 2013 01:36 pmSomeone posted this and I can't remember who...sorry. It's really well done but the lyrics in the song...it made me sad. It's like Jack infects everyone and ( ruins their lives... )
The same could be said of the Doctor...
Oh, look there is one! ( It has even has EIGHT! )
From 9-11:30 PM EST, BBCA is revisiting Eight on Saturday. YAY! You never forget your first Doctor.
I couldn't find any good Marvel ones. Loki's an obvious choice but they're all a year or two years old.

Thor Parodies
Aug. 28th, 2013 02:08 pmThis is loved by everyone, including my mom and nephews who have never really seen the show BUT if you have seen the show, it's so much more hilarious.
Really, considering the photo I posted previously, we should have seen this coming...
A lot of people are very big on Nostalgia Critic, this is my first time watching him but I don't think he quite understands and some of the points in the video...well, I was audibly arguing back to Youtube, like when he argues no one liked him after Thor. My mom and I had to apologize to one because she loved him and we didn't understand...and then we did.
Also, I thought it was spelled "woobie"?

I'm really loving the Youtube animator OnlyLeigh. She did Thorested Development and all of these...anyone find it interesting how Russell T. Davies fell off the face of the planet? It's not like he hasn't been doing shows and such but no one mentions him anymore except the hardcore Doctor Who/Torchwood people.
I mention this because no one ever mentions him anymore with regards to killing off characters and to me, he will always be the worst because unless your name's Jack or Rose, you're never coming back. At least Joss and Steve tends to bring them back somehow after they kill them horribly. Agents of SHIELD anyone?
And then there's this one which has one of the funniest scenes ever:
(girl hides computer from boyfriend)
Boyfriend: What are you doing?
Girl: Nothing, nothing, there's nothing here. I was watching porn...yes, that's it. I was watching porn.
Boyfriend: It's one of those Loki videos, isn't it?
It's funny because it's true.

Marvel, Part One
Aug. 28th, 2013 02:52 pmYay, featurette from Iron Man 3. Now we just need the full Peggy Carter short and I'm all set.
Also, who else wants to actually see Tom Hiddleston use the phrase, "uncontrollably excited"? Although the way he said "amazing" is extremely cute and reminded me of Bill.
Yay, Coulson! Plus, it has that corner joke I mentioned before...
LEGOS!!!! NEW LEGO TRAILER!!!!! SO ADORABLE!!!!! I hope we can play as Coulson.
"Doctor Doom's Doom Ray of...DOOM!"

Marvel, Part Two
Aug. 28th, 2013 03:05 pmThese are the original storyboard animatics for The Avengers.
Finally, I understand why the Lego set had Iron Man chasing Loki and Hawkeye for the Tesseract in their SHIELD jeep.
The final version is so much better without Tony trying to trick Loki, let Natasha be the only one to do that. Also, the "gutted" line, damn, although it was interesting to have Coulson's name and words stick with him.
WASP!!!!!

Loki and Frigga
Aug. 28th, 2013 03:50 pmI love the closeness between Loki and Frigga and if they had kept any of that in the first film, the general audience might as well. Even the prelude comic, which I will probably pre-order, has Odin saying that he only left Loki alive after Thor bought him back from Earth because Frigga wanted him alive.
Now, you have Frigga and Loki using the same exact attacks; adorable and sad.

Also, can we please have Loki shirtless at some point? Please?
I know this is from 2007 but still, it helps illustrate my point...

John Oliver
Aug. 28th, 2013 04:02 pmI love Jon Stewart and I am excited about him coming back to The Daily Show next week BUT...
I will also miss Jon Oliver hosting it. At first, it was weird but I loved him before* and it was fun.
*By loving him before, I mean squealing whenever his voice-over ads for BBCA pop up on one of my DVDs.
Plus, this is one of my Top Ten favorite TDS moments ever:

I mean, even if you try to claim cinematic Tony Stark, everyone knows cinematic Tony Stark is really Robert Downey Jr. playing an exaggerated version of himself.

Go here for everything in its .gif glory:

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
Hmm...
It's being directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg.
I'm not familiar with any of their work.
It's being written by Jeff Nathanson who wrote Rush Hour 3 and Tower Heist.
Uh...
There is no plot or any other information.
I'm not going through this again. I'm not going to have any expectations until, or if, I see it.

So, Daredevil is Batman...
I don't know. My immediate thought was...why?
But then, I knew why. DC wants a safe bet. Not enough people learned Henry Cavrill's name so they wanted an A Lister to be Batman.
Right there, there you have the difference between DC and Marvel.
Marvel does prefer safe bets but when it comes down to it, they will also trust what's best. Let's compare this casting news with Thor.
Marvel: Yay, we have Kenneth Branagh directing. He's an OSCAR winner! Anthony Hopkins is Odin. This is GREAT! Who's that?
Ken: Chris Hemsworth.
Marvel: We've never heard of him.
Ken: I know but he's PERFECT!
Marvel: Grr...fine. Who's this?
Ken: Tom Hiddleston
Marvel: You keep bringing us people we don't know. No one in America knows who these people are!
Ken: But I've worked with him before and he's perfect.
Marvel: Grr...fine.
Hemsworth and Hiddleston go on to OWN Comic Con.
DC seemed to understand this with Henry Cavrill and the amount of shirtlessness in Man of Steel but this feels like a backtrack to business as usual and if you don't fully realize business as usual at DC, here's this lovely essay:

This is the comment that Diane Duane added to it:
Something rings terrifyingly true about this. I wonder, is this why I’ve done so much more work for Marvel than DC?…
Now back to Ben Affleck...
While I loved Daredevil, Matt was more of the old school comic book movie style...slightly cheesy. I have not watched the director's cut, it's supposed to be better. However, having binged on Kevin Smith this summer, I can tell you how Affleck in Argo and The Company Men is very different than Affleck in Phantoms or Armageddon. It's not going to be a Christian Bale Batman but it's not going to be a retread of George Clooney either.
And if it does suck, we survived Clooney and Michael Keaton as Batman, Batman goes on through anything.
Yes, I don't think Tim Burton's Batman films are wonderful. I think they were good for the time but even then, I hated Catwoman and other stuff in it.
The only thing that really pisses me off is that WE STILL DON'T HAVE A WONDER WOMAN FILM???!!!!
WHAT THE FUCK, PEOPLE!
Marvel is also guilty of this but at least they're learning. There are multiple comics with female leads, Ultimate Spider-Man has good female characters, they made sure that Black Widow would be heavily in Captain America: Winter Soldier* and they've admitted that Peggy's short is a test about how much we'd want a female lead in a full scale film.
*I know you can argue that Natasha is required for a Winter Soldier film but this is the same studio that decided that Hank Pym isn't necessary for an Ultron film.
Also, please have Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor, that would be perfect and appeal to your wanting names people know, thank you.
The epic Fail/Flailing over it was hilarious though especially when Joss Whedon came out in favor of the casting and there seemed to be this internal fight within fanboys about whether to go against Whedon or not.
