You remember how I saw Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and my immediate reaction was to post the .gif of Ron Weasley saying, "You're gonna suffer but you're gonna be happy about it"?

Well, this is Avengers: Infinity War:

My official review is here:

Next post will have all the spoilers under cut...

SPOILERS

Fuck

FUCK

FUCK

Yeah

I mean, obviously, it was going to be bad but not...
not like series finale, fuck everything "Not Fade Away" bad, you know?

Everyone died and not even in a good Six Feet Under way...

It was like someone wrote an angst-fic to outdo all other angst fics AND IT GOT FILMED!

Which is what comics do, especially event comics like the Infinity War but damn...

Loki being choked to death and seeing his dead stare as Thor tries to cradle his body like Quill did with Yondu...

I didn't cry though, I did really well until Gamora because the Guardians...they're more my group than the Avengers are and have been since Age of Ultron probably. Rocket actually asked Thor about his feelings and was empathetic compared with his "we all have dead people" speech in the first film. He even called it "being the captain" which some have said was Quill's influence but it was Yondu that really called Rocket on his shit but made him realize just how much he could lose, what his future could be.

And they kissed and said I love you which in the last film was nothing much more than "an unspoken thing" and it would have been the best thing ever the kiss followed Gamora making Peter swear on his mother to kill Gamora rather than let Thanos have her. The I Love You managed to one up Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in worst TIMING EVER...
And Peter did pull the trigger, he did and there was just bubbles.

I know feel like the only one who doesn't blame Peter for what he did. Yeah, he went ballistic and messed up the plan when he found out Gamora was dead but did you really expect anything else? Is this your first Peter Quill film?

Yes, I know it's been four whole years since Volume 2 and Rocket was able to mature a lot in that time but when it comes to Peter, the Guardians are all he has left. His mom's dead. Yondu is dead. Kraglin appears to have taken off with the Eclector. And of those Guardians, Gamora means the most to him...enough that he would promise to kill her because that's her wishes.

So, Gamora is when I cried, twice. I cried when it was obvious the spoilers were right and he was going to kill her, then seeing her dead body. The second time was when little Gamora was crying and asking Thanos if it was worth it.

Damn poor Rocket, I had noticed a trend before in the first two films. Whoever understands Rocket best ends up dead so in this film, it was everyone. Well, except for Nebula but I don't know how much contact they had even though Nebula was comfortable enough to call Mantis to get picked up. I did love that he gave Thor an eye and asked Bucky about his arm. We'd been waiting four years to have Rocket ask Bucky about his arm.

Peter Dinklage and he wasn't evil!!! This was one of the few bright spots. Yes, Dinklage plays an awesome asshole but he can do so much more.

Ooh, casting! I mean Avengers 4 casting! Marvel said they wanted identical twin boys 2-3 years old. Everyone assumed it would be Wanda's twins but twins are played by 3-4 kids at that age. I assumed it would be Nate Barton but it seems Clint's whole family was disintegrated...eww.

Which leaves only one real candidate for a son of that age in a film that jumps ahead a few years...
Tony and Pepper, especially with Tony's dream and everything and now...I'm kind of...how many prescient dreams has he had? Do I need to rewatch everything? Does he know other things he doesn't even realize?

Still, Tony and Pepper with a kid, that's going to be cute...and we're going to need cute because THEY KILLED EVERYONE ELSE!

*takes breath*

Strange hating Stark was glorious, too, although it's a pity that we couldn't find an excuse to have Stark, Strange and Ross all in the same scene. Ross is...unknown. Aunt May didn't even have a reaction shot, maybe she disintegrated, too.

Wanda was almost at full power and it was AWESOME!!! so of course, they had to fucking kill her, too.

If the Collector is alive, I want him to move in with his brother and Darryl. I refuse to believe Valkyrie is dead because she's too cool for that and I guess Nakia was in Oakland.

Shuri is Queen of Wakanda now, right? Or did M'Baku take over?

I didn't recognize Red Skull but it feels like a fitting end.

Of course, it could be like Doctor Who where the disintegration ray was actually a transporter beam.

We were all lined up to go inside the auditorium when the previous screening came out. They were kind of like zombies, shuffling out, nothing like the usual exuberant gang telling the next group how awesome it is.

I need fanfic, a LOT of fanfic and https://omegaunderground.com/2018/04/28/spoilers-what-avengers-4-could-look-like-and-are-more-threats-ahead/
