I'm so happy, not only did they pay tribute to Vincent but Bones did go the "Requiem" episode of The X-Files route except even better because the father wasn't abducted by aliens!

If Bones was a bunny, I'd run and tackle it into a hug RIGHT NOW!!!

You finally saw it, cool 8)! Late last night, I was trying to catch up on reading entries from my flist (Loved the newest part of "When All The Stars Were Falling", BTW 8). I'll give a more detailed review in a little while here :)), and I read that you hadn't seen the finale yet. I was uncertain about and didn't altogether like the ending at first, because I wanted to see some buildup (and it wouldn't have to have been romantic or sappy, either) before they got into things like marriage and having children, but now that I've had time to mull it over, I think I'm okay with it, and am definitely looking forward to seeing where they take things next season 8). I say that for three reasons. First, it is actually pretty realistic (one of the main complaints about the decision I've seen on the Bones comm I'm a member of is that it wasn't). I'm sure something like that (a woman, no matter what age, getting pregnant the first time she has sex with someone) does occasionally happen. Second, it isn't like the issues the two of them have (Brennan's difficulty trusting people, Booth's view about marriage, etc.) are going to go away. They do still need to resolve those. I suspect that, given the amount of time it's taken the two of them to reach even the point they were at in "The Hole In The Heart", it would take them almost nearly as long to resolve said issues if their relationship was more or less a typical one. The fact that they now have a baby to consider makes it even more important that they get their shit together, to put it bluntly (And rather crudely. Sorry about that. :}). Finally, after reading a couple of post-finale interviews with Stephen Nathan, one of the head writers and creators, I like the sound of the story arc they're planning for the B/B baby 8). Here are the links to those articles, if you want to take a look:

Yay, someone's still reading the stories! Sometimes, it feels like nobody.

I've probably asked this before...did you watch The X-Files?

I was really happy about the Vincent tribute, too. It would have been braver of the show if the baby had been blind, but I'm happy for Hodgins and Angela that he's not.

Never watched X-files, so can't comment on that. I predict things will be complicated but hopefully good.

Okay, here's what happened on The X-Files...

Mulder and Scully were paired together in the FBI... Scully believed in God and Mulder believed in the paranormal, both believed in science to varying degrees. Basically, from episode one, people wanted them together. They even used the new internet to discuss this with others. Some preferred slash pairings, but those who wanted Mulder/Scully together were called relationshippers. This would be shortened to the "shippers" we still used today for multiple fandoms.

I didn't join in until the movie when Mulder and Scully ALMOST kiss. They finally kiss as part of a new year's eve thing a year or two later. Then, a few months later, we have an episode from Scully's point of view where it certainly seems like Mulder is sleeping in her bed but nothing is said about it so we're not sure what happened there.

Cut to a month or so later for the season finale, Requiem, and...after acting strangely all episode, it's revealed that Scully is pregnant and we all know who's the father even though it isn't actually said.

I can certainly see the comparison.
