http://geek-news.mtv.com/2011/05/26/10-non-spoilery-thoughts-about-the-first-three-episodes-of-torchwood-miracle-day/

This is probably one of the most unprofessional articles I've ever read, but whatever...

However, two things are simply unacceptable.

Torchwood famously killed off all of their boring, boring cast members over the course of the run, leaving the only three interesting ones for the last series

What the fuck? Did you just call Tosh and Owen boring times two? Are you serious? This just...does not compute with me. Maybe he never saw "Fragments" which basically changes how you look at all their other episodes?

Seasons one and two suffered from being a too Americanized version of a British show

Uh, what? I mean, yeah, I get how my mom thought it seemed "like X-Files except with more science parts" but she was also basing that on bits and pieces as she walked through the room. It was basically "Doctor Who" for people who wanted a little more sex, violence and language.

Now, if you were getting at the fact that the reboot of Doctor Who and thus Torchwood were heavily inspired/borrowed from Joss Whedon and his series...you should just say so...

I notice there's no question for if you liked the first two seasons better than Children of Earth...

Also on MTV, June 5th is the MTV Movie Awards, you can vote here:

Yes, I keep assuming someone will win other than Twilight. Sorry, Tom Felton, this is who I want to win Best Villain.

But speaking of Harry Potter...

It's weird to see him all grown up and remember the first time I ever saw Daniel Radcliffe on MTV. He must have been like twelve or thirteen and subjected to TRL. He just looked completely overwhelmed at being in this enclosed space with all these screaming girls. Then, they bring out this little thirteen year old from outside and she's dressed in only a towel so they're introduced and he's right at boobs level. His eyes never leave her boobs and you can just see him thinking BREASTS, BREASTS, BREASTS!!! It was definitely a Jeff moment if I had known at that point who Jeff was.

Unfortunately, beyond a few seconds, Youtube has failed me but I suppose that's for the best...probably horribly embarrassing for Dan now, lol.

I love Dan. He turned into such an amazing guy. Seriously, I`m yet to find a statement of his that rubs me the wrong way. He handles fame so well, really level-headed, and disappointments too (much has been made of his Tony snub but he was so gracious about it). On top of that, he`s raising awareness on important issues (suicide among gay youth) and is growing into better actor with every role. I really hope he has longevity in this business and never go down the Lohan path (something that really peeves me because Lindsey is a talent and I hate to see wasted talent).

For the "Best Movie" category on the MTV Movie Awards, wtf is Twilight even doing there? I mean, three of those movies won OSCARS (heck, I think Harry Potter might've won one too, or at least was nominated). Putting Twilight in the same league as those other movies is laughable.

Also kinda pissed to hear Gwen and Jack actually get together. =\ I mean, I only saw up to the end of season 1 so idk if they already did get together at any point. But I know some of what happens in Children of Earth, namely the major spoiler (which is why I haven't watched Torchwood in a while, I was so pissed to hear that they did that =\), so Jack being with her seems like an additional slap in the face. Not to mention she's married and has a kid but she still keeps cheating? Didn't she learn anything from when she cheated on her husband with Owen? Oh right, she drugged him so he'd forget about the whole thing. SMH.

The only way I've seen anything suggesting Jack and Gwen "get together" is in the sense of being together in the same place.

In fact, some of what JB has let slip about scenes he was filming suggests IF they were to try and put them "together" it's not likely to be in the first few episodes - which is what this article is supposed to be talking about.

Yeah, I just went back to re-read that part of the article and saw how it could also just mean "together" as in "working together again". I just jumped to conclusions. D=

Honestly, I have to wonder if that wasn't the purpose of the wording - stir the pot and all. I think a lot of these places have picked up on how easy it is to manipulate fans - those who read it as J/G and love the pairing will pass it on to other shippers to coo over, those who don't will pass it on to be torn apart. In either case: more hits.

Eh. Don't worry about it - happens to us all at some point.

And you have to take into account in this situation that I'm a battle-scarred vet of too many net wars, so I could just be plain paranoid. ;)

Twilight is going to win again because only that fandom watch MTV Movie AWards so they pander to them. I`ve no doubt that Twi-tards vote 24-7 but voting really never changes anything cause these awards are so obviously fixed. They want to have Robsten on the stage doing annual awkward predude to kizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Still, I`ll be royally pissed if that lame-o vampire/werewold fight wins Best Fight over Inception`s iconic low gravity and any of Twi lamo-o kisses over Portman/Kunis in Black Swan, arguably the most talked about kiss last year. That the movie and actors are winning again is forgone conclusion but at least it shouldn`t be a sweep in other categories.

Children of Earth was good - even though there were plot holes the size of the Pacific, but I'll always prefer the 1st 2 seasons, if for no other reason than I don't feel I have to sit down and watch 5 episodes in order to keep from missing something. That's my biggest complaint about serialized shows like this.

Also, while I admit to not being too upset over either Ianto or Owen, how anyone can say a show is better with a female character like Gwen as compared to one like Tosh is beyond me.

This person/critic is an "idoit"!!!
I loved Tosh and Owen! I loved the whole cast to be honest...yes even Gwen!...but they killed off everyone I really loved the most like Tosh and "Ianto" :**( I wanted Owen and Tosh to get together preferbly when he was "alive"...so stupid! Dead, but not dead. Sorry, stepped up on my personal soapbox for a minute.
