Day 5: A picture of your least favorite ride or attraction

This photo actually shows four I'm not crazy about: Space Mountain, the Raceway, Teacups and the one I'm going to discuss...20,000 Leagues under the Sea.

Let me explain: As a six year old, born and raised in Florida, I knew Mickey and his friends were actually people in costumes, but I also knew that mermaids were real...my brothers had seen them just north of us.

So, when they say we're going on a submarine ride including mermaids, I assumed they would be real ones, but they weren't. They were fake and the squid was very fake, too. I was horribly disappointed. I wanted something more like what they would later accomplish with the Nemo ride at Epcot...which is awesome.

Haha, I can't remember ever doing 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, but I did the very similar submarine ride in Disneyland CA, and it was very disappointing. Extremely claustrophobic and obvious that we were just 2 feet under surface level. Having Nemo characters added to it was kind of interesting though. As for the "Nemo" ride in Epcot, I can kind of remember that when it was The Living Seas, and I think it was the same, just now there are a few holograms of Nemo and friends, which strikes me as lazy. I see what that ride/area used to be like in reruns of Boy Meets World (lol) and it looked a lot more awesome than it is now.

Dammit, Boy Meets World at Disney World is blending together with Roseanne and Full House...

Plus, I remember nothing about the original Living Seas except that they had manatees and I was very happy about that. I'd never seen them before and they had dolphins which was awesome, too.

I like the holograms with the fish but I also like the story before that...I often find "Big Blue World" in my head at random times. It's also a lot of fun with the elements outside like the "Mine mine mine" seagulls and watching people seeing it all for the first time.

"Actual Mermaid." Sometimes I wonder if there should be some sort of yearly awards contest for Most Odd Job. ^_____^
