I was just speechless. I mean, I've seen I`m just saying that when you dispatch an actor thought character`s untimely death, it`s always because he screwed up. before but it was mean people trying to insinuate Ianto's death being because Gareth was fired but never,never have I ever heard someone make this claim against Norrington and Jack Davenport.

Dead men tell no tales but living people do and never have I heard anything bad in reference to Jack Davenport's behavior on Pirates.

I wonder if that person ran into the IMDB doofus who's spreading the rumour that Jack Davenport was in jail for drug abuse ( I guess "baby break" was not interesting enough) and has now drawn strange conclusions. That would explain a lot. Why do people believe every rubbish on the internet without questioning it...

Lol, yeah well.
I love it when ppl draw crazy conclusions and then they decide that's THE ONLY POSSIBLE EXPLANATION. Regardless of the fact that it's even mentioned in a couple of places that they gave Norrington a larger role because they really liked Jack after CotBP. (true that they butchered it later, but that's just pure ineptitude.)
Aside from the obvious fact that Jack Dav is a dear.

Plus, IMO, I don't think Norrington's death was uncalled for. Much as we might hate it, his death was the character's final redemption. He is teh most noble characters of the franchise and the only one to have truly sacrificed himself for someone else. (You could argue Will did so too, but I think he did it for selfish purposes, whereas Norrington was yes, asking forgiveness for selfish purposes but by a truly selfless act).
Also, the fact that he refused Davy Jones does not mean he can't return, it only means he's not serving a sentence with him, he's soul still has to be carried to the underworld. If Barbosa came back out of nowhere, why couldn't Jamie?

The actor was likely fired by the look of it. There`s no other logical explanation. The character arc wasn`t closed - he was dispatched in the "get him out of here as quickly as possible" way.

Silly poster. Of course Norrington's character arc was closed. He started out in TCotBP as an honorable man, showed back up in DMC as a man who had (in his own opinion) lost that honor, superficially regained that honor at the end of DMC, and went into AWE on the side of the baddies. Until, midway through AWE, he redeems himself -- by sacrificing his life to save others. The writers killed him off to COMPLETE his character arc of redemption, not to leave us hanging. Did this person even WATCH the movie??

(Also, T&T (the writers) both mentioned that their main reason for bringing back Norringtin in DMC and AWE was because Davenport is so charming and fun that everybody wanted him back on set!! Oh, INTERNET ... how do you manage to get everything so WRONG??)

Well, considering the fact that the PotC movies gradually became more and more convoluted with each installment, it's obvious that the folks in charge were making bad decisions. It seems merely par for the course that they would dispatch one of their best characters in such a way. Also, I guess Keira and Orlando were "fired" too?

I still have no idea where in the blue hell that person got that impression. The thing that really kills me is that she (I think it's a she) claims to be a Norrington fan. WTF??
