Awwww I love the feet pose and is that the official date? that makes Ianto only four years older than me. Why does that matter? It makes head fantasy-land better. I wish I could work for torchwood....y'know except the early death and guns stuff. Maybe an internship with Sarah Jane less accessible men but less guns... it's a toss up!~
I would like to collect some of the TW magazines just haven't done it yet, I guess off ebay.
I have some of the TW magazines, but I'm not sure if I have that issue. The ones I'd like to have, and don't are the ones with Gareth's comic strip in them. I've gotten the magazines from a variety of places--friends, conventions, and ebay.
I love your Ianto icon. :) Can I steel it and credit of course?
Heh, that's one not only did I not make, but I don't know who did. In my userpics I put, "Ianto Jones from ??? If you know the maker let me know." ;)
Oh great! thanks! I will put "by unknown" I don't know who made it either. :)
Oh I forgot, I went to some conventions a long time ago before probably TW was around yet. I went for the Star Trek conventions with my future husband. lol! I wish I had more X-Files stuff, that would have been fun to buy there.

I don't know for certain, but I think the first Torchwood convention was the first Hub in 2008. I haven't been to Hub. I don't live on the right side of the Atlantic for that. I went to Torchsong in Chicago in 2009, and some other cons here in the US that Gareth has been to. I'd still like to get to meet John at a convention, but I couldn't go to SDCC and he hasn't tried to do a con closer since Torchsong.
Pfft. The first convention I went to was a little local comic book convention put on in Bangor, Maine in 1986. I've been to different kinds of conventions in Bangor, ME, Portland, ME, Boston, MA, Washington, D.C., Chicago, IL and on the one occasion when I was able to get out of the country to Leeds, England. ;)

Most are in California aren't they? I live WAY too far away to go to the TW cons. I have only gone as far as Atlanta GA. to see cons. They were fun. :) I'm down south in TN.
Not in my experience. The cities I've seen Gareth in are Chicago and Boston. I know he's also been to Dragon*Con in Atlanta repeatedly, and a con in Florida. I forget the name of it at the moment.
Conventions are all over. What varies is their size and focus. The first con I saw Gareth at, Torchsong, was a little convention that John got put together himself. The second con I saw Gareth at was a regular one in Boston called "The New England Fan Experience." They had multiple tracks, and Gareth was just one guest for the "Sci-Fi" track. The third con I saw Gareth at was "Chicago TARDIS" a big regular Doctor Who convention. They had guests from Classic Who, New Who, The Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood. You've just gotta know where to look.

Heh, well the only strictly Torchwood cons I know about are the Hub ones in the UK. It's just even John's done more than one of the BIG multi-track cons. He's not only done San Diego Comic Con here in the US, but he's also done Collectormania in the UK.

Ah. Like I said, Gareth has done Dragon*Con in Atlanta more than once. Heck, he's not only going to be there this year, but they're going to have a special event where he does live commentary for one of the episodes. It's just the only way he could be any farther down I-95 from me is if he was doing the Florida con again.
Heh. I don't know if Gareth has done one called MegaCon, but the one I was thinking of was called Hurricane Who. It was Doctor Who based, like Chicago TARDIS is. That's one of the things about cons. A good sized city can sustain more than one kind. I know Boston has at least two. It's got both The New England Fan Experience, and Anime Boston. Maybe Orlando has more than one?
Well, you see, I'd never even heard of Hurricane Who before a year or two ago whereas most people in Florida into anime, fantasy or comic books know MegaCon. It's the biggest annual convention in Florida and yes, Gareth has done it...twice. He didn't make it this year but they did have Russell Tovey. However, the headliners were William Shatner and Stan Lee.
It's not until February so most of the guests aren't finalized yet... http://www.megaconvention.com/ (http://www.megaconvention.com/)

Dragon*Con is definitely a shorter drive for you.
