So, I finally finished "The Sensorites" episodes! I might only be on the first Doctor but I'm going to finish all of them, really.

Ian: Gee, I think there's something huge and dangerous ahead.

Doctor: Luckily, I have this map, I'll just roll it up and it should protect us against anything. You can just thwack it death.

Really? They honestly thought that was a good weapon and then seemed so surprised when it didn't work too well...

*facepalm*

However, I loved when Susan was talking to one of the aliens about home. She said it had been ages and the alien said she had a wanderlust...
Hmm, doesn't that sound just like...her grandfather?
Whenever people theorize about her, it's usually that he was forced to become her guardian or it's some sort of rite of passage. I don't think anyone's ever voiced the idea that she just took after her grandfather that much that she wanted to see the stars...and probably insisted that he take her. He was probably reluctant but recognized himself in her like he would with Jenny later.

Gosh, I wish there was fic with the Doctor and Susan.

Ian: I don't think you even know what you're doing.

Doctor: How dare you speak to me like that! Of course, I know everything! I'm going to kick you off at the next place because I'm sure it will be a paradise or something livable, no questions.

I haven't seen much of Classic Who, but it's always seemed to me that older sci fi/fantasy shows really went for the most obvious of obvious "twists" and the like. I get the impression that shows like those were more about seeing the heroes have stupid moments and wait for them to figure out what the audience knew half an hour ago, whereas now we watch as the Doctor (or whoever) figures it out.

I don't watch much older TV, so I don't know how valid that is - it's just my opinion based on what little of it I have seen.

So was she his actual grandchild, or was it like Jenny? (Although even that I don't have a good recollection of - she was the result of a biological experiment or something, right?)

Jenny was the result of a machine taking blood from Ten and then rearranging his DNA in a way to clone a person but have it come off more like off-spring than an exact clone.

We don't know the exact circumstances around Susan's birth except that he has admitted to being a father before...
Also, the unaired pilot claimed that Susan was born in the 49th century.
