Okay, I want to like it: great cast, intriguing premise but...

Even if everyone blacked out for 2 minutes, 17 seconds, why is everything SO fucked up?

Okay, I get that somehow every SINGLE car on the road managed to cause an accident which will probably do better numbers than Cash for Clunkers could even dream of...

And there were planes...don't they have auto-pilots that kick in like for cases like that? At least on Air Force Two??

BUT what is up with the all the fires?? I know it's pretty and helps illustrate the point of everything being fucked up, but I don't see a reason for it. The fires are in the upper stories so it can't be from cars. There are no large holes or gaps from planes or cranes hitting them. They look like business buildings so it can't be that someone left the oven on. Unless I'm supposed to believe that many people have hot plates in their office that they were using at the same time that caused fires?

And there just happened to be a vehicle carrying a kangaroo?

At least on Lost, they were on a messed up island, I could understand that.

Still, it's a minor nitpick and shouldn't even matter by next week.

Also, I hope that one guy's Flash Forward does come true...Rays rally from three runs down to beat the Red Sox AT Fenway? AWESOME!

Dammit, I just checked. On April 28th, 2010, we're playing Oakland and on the 29th, Kansas City, but we are playing at Fenway on the 16th-19th.

(Fingers crossed that he was reading an old paper.)

I wondered about the fires burning in the skyscrapers and that kangaroo in the middle of the street, too. For the latter, I just figured it was the same sort of weirdness we saw in LOST with the polar bears on the island, and we'll find out how it got there at some point. For the fires, I figured it had to do with some aircraft, like planes, helicopters, etc. flying into the skyscrapers when their pilots blacked out. Either that, or like with that dang kangaroo, we'll find out what happened as the government agencies (hopefully) start putting the pieces together in upcoming episodes.

Also, I hope that one guy's Flash Forward does come true
You mean "Mark's"? And you hope it doesn't? If so, I completely agree. I don't know though, one element (the friendship bracelet) already has, and it looks from the previews that the rest might, as well- I mean, "Lloyd" meets "Mark's" wife, and it looks like some tension starts developing between her and "Mark", presumably over his sudden obsession over finding out who or what is responsible for the blackouts & accompanying flash forwards, then trying to manipulate things to make the negative ones work in their respective "owner's'" favor. But we'll see 8). I'm certainly hooked on the show already, though, and can't wait until next week's episode (and not just because we get more of JackDav, either ;)) =)!

Umm, no, I was referring to Courtney B Vance's character's Flash Forward where he was reading the sports section.

Although about the Lloyd and Mark situation, I'm glad I read stuff ahead of time that explained that the flash forwards did last two minutes and seventeen seconds so we're only getting little snippets at a time since Olivia was in Lloyd's son Flash Forward but we didn't his son in her's so that would have been confusing otherwise. I can't wait for the scenes with Jack and Dom!

Ah, gotcha :). I'm hoping Mark's sponsor's flash forward happens. That would be cool, because he seems really crushed about what happened to his daughter in Afghanistan :(.

Wait, when was that =/? I remember getting bits of Olivia's, but not Lloyd's (if he even had one) or his son's. I must've missed that, unless it was when he was being wheeled into the hospital on the gurney.

I can't wait for the scenes with Jack and Dom!
Me either :)! It's gonna be great to see those two playing off each other 8), and I'm very interested in how Dominic Monaghan's character figures into the story. His and Jack's characters are connected in some way, that much is obvious from the preview for next week's episode, but how?

Lloyd's son called Olivia by name on the gurney even though they'd never met before so obviously, she was in his Flash Forward.

Oh, that's right, I'd forgotten :P. I remember that was one of my "Hang on a minute, how did he/she know that?" moments while I was watching. Hmmm..., very, very interesting. I'm curious about what Mark & Olivia's daughter saw in hers, and why she described it as "a bad dream". Guess we'll find out next week :).

Well, Charlie must only be about three or so, which means it could be anything especially when her parents don't appear to be doing well, her mom has this non-daddy person over, there's this new boy playing with her toys and taking attention from her and her real daddy is drinking a lot.

All very true, you could be right :]. I'm thinking it's something else, though, judging from how concerned she was about Lloyd's son, and her answer that she'd never seen Lloyd before when Olivia asked her about him. Telling Mark that "D. Gibbons is a bad man" was a big hint about what she saw, I think. It looks like we're going to meet him this week, so I guess we'll see if that's true or not :).

I hope Dom's finally on...

(fingers crossed)

Have you got a chance to start reading "But Time Didn't Stop" yet?

Same here :]. After the episode aired, I was like, "Wait a minute, what happened to the scene between Jack and Dominic Monaghan in Lloyd's car =/?". I very clearly remember seeing a bit of it in the preview after episode one, and figured we'd see it last week. But maybe it was a teaser for the next episodes following last week's, as we also saw a bit of the role Dom's character is going to play during the rest of the season in that same preview.

I have, and I really liked it, especially the Captain John, Ianto, and Jack POV parts 8). Great title, too :)! More complete explanations of why are in the e-mail response I'm currently working on :].

Yeah, the kangaroo. I'm not sure about that, it seemed a little too much like, "Look! We're like Lost, only in LA! We too can have out-of-place animals showing up for no apparent reason!" Still, I hope it improves, as it has the potential to be really good. (Also, Jack Davenport and Dominic Monaghan sharing scenes. 8D)

Watched the premiere tonight and am already hooked. Also I recognised Jack Davenport from the back of his head. Okay so it had to be him seeing he didn't turn up until nearly the end, but... really.

I love it so far - and also have to say I'm impressed by Joseph Fiennes too.

LOL, I recognized his head, too!

But, I thought John Cho was in one shot from the commercial and it turned out to be Joseph Fiennes! Whoops.

Yeah, I'm excited by the future episodes. I think it's going to be good and I'm looking forward to cute daddy scenes between Jack and his son.

Read the book. It might explain some stuff. It was too sci-fi for my taste, but it did explain some stuff, even about the planes and cars and stuff. :)

I'll put it on the list, but I've heard they've changed a lot of it.

Also, I want to read Cirque du Freak...LOVED the movie, and I thought the latest Abarat book was supposed to come out this year and I want to read the new Michael Crichton book in November. Pirates!
