Things to do: - climb a mountain (the Smokies are close to you and not a huge challenge.) - go skydiving (that was my personal before-30 thing) - learn the basics of another language - because the Earth is getting smaller all the time - attend a protest (that used to be a 20s must) - VOTE
Now, some words on turning 30 and beyond from someone who is WAY past that point: I dreaded that day and chose to not take the day off work so I could pretend it wasn't happening. I sat at my station and cried all day. Don't do that! Make it an occasion!
Looking back, if I was given the chance to re-live my 20s, I'd say "no way in hell!" because that is a time of coming into your own and making mistakes and being scared and lost. If I was given a chance to relive my 30s, I'd grab it in a heartbeat! Those are the best years. You're old enough to know what you want and be taken seriously and young enough to not be discriminated against and dismissed. The 30s really are the best decade ever! Look forward to them!
