SOPA and PIPA SUCKS!
Jan. 18th, 2012 03:35 pmImagine a world where we don't bother having a list of songs to avoid on Youtube because we can't have ANY fanvids.
Imagine a world where wedding videos posted online have to be silent or contain only original music.
Imagine a world where NOTHING can be embedded because of copyright.
Imagine a world where NOTHING can be linked because of copyright.
Imagine a world where you're thrown in jail because of a Macro using screenshots.
Imagine a world where you're thrown in jail for posting yourself playing Lego Harry Potter.
Imagine a world where you're thrown in jail for writing fanfiction.
Imagine a world reverted back to the early 1990s when we were dependent on corporations to release overseas material in the United States. Unless you had access to magazines or friends, you couldn't find out about anime, films or television from Britain, Japan, Korea or the rest of the world except for the small amount allowed to come here. Fanfiction remains on paper. Without clips on Youtube, DVD and BluRay sales suffer. Fandom becomes carefully coordinated by the corporation owners.
It sucks, doesn't it?
