Cirque du Freak
Oct. 25th, 2009 12:08 amWhy an I such a sucker for tormented immortals who wear long, billowing coats?
(sighs and then blames Joss Whedon as usual)

This doesn't do him justice though especially when he comes out of the fog and it's Vampaneze ass-kicking time. (growls in a good way)
It's a very tough choice about which John C. Reilly role I like better: this or Dewey Cox because this offers everything Dewey Cox did: sarcasm, clothed butt shots, romance and despite not having singing, it has butt-kicking so it's a hard choice: Singing or fun with knives?
Also, Larten (Reilly) and Madame Truska (Salma Hayek) are SO CUTE together! I can't remember the last time I shipped a couple so fast and so hard.
"Your mouth says no, but your beard says yes."
I haven't read the books but the movie was AWESOME! It met all my expectations although I assumed I'd like the movie as soon as I saw the opening credits which reminded me of the shadow puppets closing credits for A Series of Unfortunate Events. Naturally, I'm scared for the box office take although almost every single person in our auditorium was 18-49...very rare for this area, we're usually surrounded by old people.
*wants a sequel*

Date: 2009-10-30 02:30 am (UTC)"John C. Reilly is not a box office draw."
Dammit, he should be. I go to all his movies.
That is super disappointing about the lack of fanfic. I was going to let some time pass before I tried finding stories. I suppose if I have some time and I've read the books by then...I might have to write something myself.
(sighs)
Larten was just such an awesome character, melancholy AND funny. People forget that combination in vampires, at least since Whedon stopped making new Buffy/Angel.
Gosh, Angel and Spike were great. Anyway, I loved Cirque du Freak so much. I just wish more people than us could recognize that.
Who would have thought a vampire and a bearded lady could be so cute together?!

Date: 2009-10-30 02:41 am (UTC)no movie is online. i did it once and next time i went onto the sites that ask you these question, they block you off even though you have answered it yesterday. i gave up on that. since it took me more than 15 mints to do that stupid thing
i was surprised that i had never thought of that. useurally something like that doesn't go by me that quick but dange! that one did! i want to hit my head on the wall for that.

Awww
And I also loved when he was talking to Darren about death and how he still had faith in it because life had no meaning anymore...

Date: 2009-10-30 02:44 am (UTC)i didn't really get that part but i was still focusing on the part when she says 'it's the beard!you don't love me anymore!' LC. 'Of course i love you'
'NO! i'm still mad at you!' *kiss* 'Your mouth said no but your beard says yes.' - end scene.
hahaah!

Date: 2009-10-30 02:53 am (UTC)I actually like Messengers the best, but I didn't see one for you.
I'm really curious about their relationship in the books.
