Warhorse

I think I never did think to mention that I finally saw Warhorse.

Yeah, I really wasn't sure I wanted to see Warhorse because I really hate seeing animals in pain and I tend to be leery of war movies but I'm glad I did. Actually, it was my mom's idea, pulling the same mom card she did when making me see Saving Private Ryan when I was 15.

I loved how it had the emotional impact of Saving Private Ryan or Schindler's List but in a more accessible PG-13.

I really liked it. Of course, it wasn't as violent as Schindler's List or Saving Private Ryan but I think he was able to keep a very similar level of intensity without all the blood and gore. You do see the dead soldiers. You do see the dead horse corpses being piled into a hole. It has a pretty high death toll, really.

The book is a very anti-war book and the movie, from my understanding, is more from the book with some additions from the play and some new additions. Anyway, the movie is also very anti-war in that it does show everything and how both sides have good and bad people and actions and how war in the words of one character, "takes everything".

One thing my mom mentioned is how it showed how everyone has some good and bad in them. She also likes to think, even though it's highly unlikely, that maybe something like that did happen.

Tom Hiddleston was adorable as always and just when I thought he couldn't get any cuter, he started drawing. This wasn't the usual young male drawing that I'm used to where it consists of robots, gore or what your R.A. would look like naked, it was a HORSE!

It was cuteness/adorable level DEFCON ONE!

Unfortunately, the book has no photos from the movie but Conan did manage to show a clip with Tom's character multiple times so that was nice.

Benedict Cumberbatch is in it, too. On one hand, I get that he was going for a more chivalrous, character from an older age but...I HATED the mustache. It was just wrong. I hope it never happens again.

There was also a theory that the horse was cursed. I don't believe this. However, I did compelling evidence that the FLAG was cursed and that was the real reason why the father wanted to get rid of it.

Ha ha, yes! There is actually something he CANNOT do! I know, hard to believe, isn't it? ;)

But even without drawing skills, he's still practically perfect in every way! *huggles him too*

Yes I did. But I've already seen the entire movie, even though he's not in it very much. I recently watched Conspiracy, despite his being in that one even less. But then I'd pretty much see just about anything for Tom, no matter how little screen time he's got. XD

Have you seen Suburban Shootout or Unrelated? I'm curious about both especially Unrelated since it has his sister. I was also trying to find more lighthearted roles...the man needs to do more comedies.

I'm excited about Midnight in Paris coming to Starz soon, then he'll be on my tv at all hours of the day.

Yes I've seen Unrelated, which was....rather strange. Really not my kind of movie. I'm not even entirely sure what was actually going on it. Something about a VERY dysfunctional English family staying in a villa in Italy. I think. And I did notice his sister's name in the credits though I'm not quite sure which one she was because I don't know what she looks like. But I do recommend seeing it sometime, if only for the scene of TOM JUMPING NAKED INTO A SWIMMING POOL! AND THE CAMERA ANGLE IS FROM THE FRONT, NO LESS! *ahem* Sorry, just thinking about that scene gets me a bit hyper. :D

I also recently watched Archipelago, the other movie Tom made with Joanna Hogg, though I only liked it slightly better than Unrelated. Dysfunctional family movies aren't really my thing.

As to Suburban Shootout, I've got all the episodes, but I just haven't gotten around to watching them yet. (I'm trying not to have too much Tom watching at one time. Best to spread it all out. ;))

She plays "Badge" according to IMDB but this is she:

So, I went looking, turns out the shirtless bar pics are from that one as well, and I finally found one blurry, small gif.

But Val and I want a bigger one. When you said from the front, I was expecting on par with the full frontal Tom Hollander shot where you could practically measure...

I'm tempted to buy Suburban Shoutout but I couldn't tell how to get all the episodes. The ones that claimed to be the whole series only seemed to be the first season...

Ah, so that's her. Ok, I think I remember her. (Apart from the Tom bits, I must confess the rest of that movie is rather fuzzy in my mind.)

Yes, the shirtless bar pics are also in there, as are several other scenes of him shirtless or open-shirted. Usually with very low-hanging pants too. There is quite a bit of skin in that movie, really. :D

And yes, the swimming pool shot isn't a close-up. Sorry if I gave that impression! I wish it was! But then when I watched the movie, I watched it on my TV, so it was rather more large and clear than a small blurry gif. And I definitely saw something there! XD

I'm not sure about buying Suburban Shootout because I got the episodes from the now-defunct Tom Hiddleston masterpost on Tumblr. So sadly I have no advice to give on that. Sorry!
