Magic Mike

So, despite Channing Tatum and everything, my mom really wasn't sold on Magic Mike until she found out that it took place in Tampa and was shot here. It was great seeing familiar locations on the big screen. I have a photo of myself as a toddler on the same beach where they filmed the sandbar scene. Plus, it helps to explain why I was so surprised that Tampa was just the 8th smuttiest city in America...then again, they have been trying to clean it up...
I have to admit I forgot how amazing Tatum's dance skills are...and I didn't recognize Kevin Nash even though I used to have a huge crush on Diesel...
Yes, that four door black truck is impressive but can it fit a Loki in the back?
About Matt Bomer and such...
I know a lot of my FList were looking forward to him but he didn't even talk until halfway through the film and then he turned out to be an asshole who not only did drugs but encouraged others to do it, too. I also hated Adam a lot, too.
My biggest problem, and mom's as well, is that we are told about this wonderful breakfast place but never shown it. I really wanted a scene after the credits where they were eating together. After The Avengers, this should be required of any film where they mention a restaurant repeatedly but don't show eating in the film itself.
There were also plenty of moments to remind you that you're watching a Steven Soderbergh flick, including an under the table shot you can see someone using a penis enlarger pump.
Still, I really enjoyed it. The film was fun.
