Jurassic Park

My Mom: Samuel L. Jackson wasn't in Jurassic Park.
Me: Yeah, he was.
My Mom: Who was he?
Me: The guy that got his arm ripped off.
My Mom: What? At the beginning?
Me: No...see, John Hammond had the head computer guy played by the guy from Seinfeld
My Mom: Wayne Knight
Me: Right, and he had his game warden and he had this head guy of everything else and that was Samuel L. Jackson.
My Mom: What was his big moment?
Me: He was trying undo what Nedry did and he got to say, "John, I can't get Jurassic Park back online." Then, earlier Hammond was complaining about "two no shows and a sick Triceratops" and he got to be all foreshadowy, "It could have been worse, John, A LOT worse."

She totally remembers him then. I still remember that moment when watching Pulp Fiction on VHS and realizing, That's the dude from Jurassic Park? He's awesome!

Me: So, except for Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, he's in like every franchise.
My Mom: What about that vampire thing?
Me: Twilight? That doesn't count. Plus, it had like one black person in the whole series? It was written by a Mormon you know...

How does Chitauri Warrior get a Marvel Diamond Select action figure and NOT Coulson?????

I do enjoy though how between the public living room and the Sony Store, they were showing Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, Iron Man 2 and Thor. Thor was on the part between Loki and Laufrey...I always think of the original script for that scene...damn...

My Mom: As soon as he told them to get to the cabin, I thought, uh oh...

I didn't even catch that part. I just suddenly noticed...
Hey, you're in a cabin in the woods?! No! Are you serious? Do you know what happens there? There's no good that can come from that...

According to imdb, Mr. Jackson is one of the few actors to have played characters who have been eaten by a dinosaur (Jurassic Park) and a giant shark (Deep Blue Sea). Yum.

I remember having seen Jurassic Park on big screen when I was ten. I didn't know who Samuel Jackson was then but during the scene with his arm I was so scared. It was the first time I was scared in the cinema.

Mister Jackson got a rather not so glam introduction in a Spike Lee film, several years before Jurassic Park.

I have trepidation about Red Dawn. Will Yun Lee has been a favorite actor since his role as Danny in Witchblade, and he is an absolute delight to watch, but I'm don't know if this country is ready for a film that may or may not demonize a nation of people. I'll hold out for the reviews because I woild like to support the actors in the movie, and I know Mister Lee is very sensitive to his audience when it comes to the portrayal of Asians and Asian- Americans in film.

Sam Jackson is because he is so subdued in Jurassic Park. It took me years to even realize it was him because he was so mellow in comparison to some of his other roles.

I am actually surprised at the lack of a Coulson action figure, given his following.

Still no Coulson figure...except for the really expensive thing. I do have the little figures; MiniMate, Chibi and Fighter Pod thing.

Maybe now that he's in the comics more?

LAUFEY My men are dead, and I have no

Laufey lashes out, grabs Loki around the throat, but Loki
calmly stands his ground.

LOKI You have no idea what I am.
The blueness spreads across his face, as Laufey and the
guards stare in shock. Loki grins.

Laufey releases him. Loki's body turns back to normal.
Intrigued, Laufey sizes up his son.


LAUFEY Ah, the bastard son. I thought
Odin had killed you. That's what I

This gives Laufey pause.

LAUFEY Or perhaps it was the wisest choice

your soldiers, lead you into his
chambers, and let you slay him
where he lies. I'll keep the
throne, and you will have the
Casket.
Laufey studies Loki's face.

LAUFEY Why would you do this?

LOKI When all is done, we will have a
permanent peace between our two
worlds. Then I, the bastard son,
will have accomplished what Odin
and Thor never could.

LAUFEY This is a great day for Jotunheim.
Asgard is finally ours.

LOKI No. Asgard is mine. The rest of
the Nine Realms will be yours, if
you do as you're told.
Laufey considers the proposition.

LAUFEY I accept.
