So, that very last time we saw The Avengers on the big screen, my mom was ADAMANT that this was Coulson.
"It looks too much like him. It HAS to be him. he didn't really die."
And he does have all the right mannerisms and height but then, I didn't want to get my hopes too high...and it seemed more plausible that a lot of the SHIELD scenes and shots were cut and spliced and interhchanged so much that it was probably supposed to be earlier in the film...
Well...
SHIELD is NOT a prequel and it DOES take place in the same universe as the films after the Battle of Manhattan!
