Star Trek Villain

So, I'm watching the trailer for Star Trek into Darkness and...



Dear JJ Abrams,

Did you just put the villain into basically a glass cage? Because that worked out so well with Magneto, Loki and Silva?



Oh...you ARE going for Loki then? Never mind...

Two things though...

1. And you thought Benedict Cumberbatch was impossible to ignore online before...

2. Does this prove to be another good sign about Tom Hiddleston's odds for being in one of the new Star Wars films?
Although I really want him as a good guy, preferably a Jedi...

I love Benedict Cumberbatch, but he makes me glad I don't have a Tumblr.

I hope so. If they make them mid-quels, he should play a rogue Jedi who escaped Order 66.

OMG, that was my first thought when I saw the glass cage! They should just cross the franchises over and get it over with! *heh*

Benny looks quite a lot like a Sith Lord on the cover, doesn't he? ;)

I'm hoping hard that Hiddles or Benny will be in the next Star Wars! I've been compiling my dream cast, and I intend to post it one of these days...

1. That isn't a glass box. There are, at the very least, solid walls for two of the four walls. Can't decide what's going on with the back wall. Mirror? See through to another cell? *Shrugs.* If that's supposed to be a Star Fleet holding cell, not only should it only have ONE see through wall, but said wall should have an energy field in place rather than glass.

2. The big rumor since JJ started work on a sequel was that the villain would be a reboot of the classic Star Trek villain Khan Noonien Singh. Another possibility that's been floated is that he might be a reboot of the classic Star Trek character Charlie X. Even if he's an original character created for the movie by JJ, like the one on the first film, his being put in shackles at some point doesn't make him Loki.

As a fan of both Star Trek and Benedict Cumberbatch I hope the movie is as well written as JJ's first Star Trek movie was.
