And once again, I turned into a giggly little five year old. My mom looked at the huge stack and commented, "I didn't think you'd find that many."
This time, I got...
The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick -I've been wanting to read this since I first saw it when it came out, but I didn't want to pay full-price...it's over 600 pages!!!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Portal Through Time by Alice Henderson -It's Buffy AND Time Travel! I wonder if Spike's in it...especially when part of it is in Wales...
Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H. Winters -However, I still haven't read the zombie one, but I did request it.
Doctor Who: The Stone Rose by Jacqueline Rayner -DW!!!
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan -
baine recommended this and she was right about Nana and The Thirteenth Tale.
Doctor Who: The Deviant Strain by Justin Richards -DW AND Captain Jack, woo!
Primeval: The Lost Island by Paul Kearney -I loved the other Primeval book, like Jurassic Park but shorter.
Doctor Who: Ghosts of India by Mark Morris -DW AND Donna AND Gandhi, can't wait!
Torchwood: Bay of the Dead by Mark Morris -That name seems familiar, lol...Yes, my library has Torchwood novels now! I love seeing Jack grinning at me amongst the anonymous book spines...but I don't see how any book can top Almost Perfect...so awesome...

Date: 2009-11-27 02:32 am (UTC)It had the basic plotline and had the same characters get together, but I'm not sure if a teacher would accept the supernatural details that were not originally there...
For example, in Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, they made one character into a sea hag and another into a possessed creature. The problem was that I liked the character they turned into a possessed creature so that annoyed me.
Honestly, I really enjoyed the first 3/4 of the book where it remained very faithful except for a little oddness here and there for comedic sake. It was when they added pirates and sea hags and a possessed creature that it lost me as being too different...
However, I remember in the review I read when it first came out that they felt it differed more from the source material than Pride & Prejudice and Zombies which I have requested so we'll see...especially since I don't care for zombies that well...
