The Americans

ericadawn16So I really like The Americans. FX don't always win with me but they have a pretty good success rate with me:
Rescue Me, The Riches, Louis CK, Nip/Tuck, etc,
However, I'm not stupid, I doubt The Americans will go past their second season.
Still, it has an awesome cast and lots of cool spy stuff. I like when they speak Russian and I can go, "I know that word! I learned it from The Avengers!"
The main couple's American names are Phil and Elizabeth. Did I laugh the first time that Phil used his alias "Clark"?
You know I did, so hard. They even had a taser in a later episode.
Then, I watched the episode "Safe House" and what the freaking fuck did you just DO?!!!

They killed Amador!
I was so pissed but then, they actually spent time on it and it did cheer me up whenever he said "pussy".
Still, I saw those photos for Captain America: Winter Soldier and it didn't look so good for Sitwell either. I'm going to hope they were pissed about Bucky or Phil and that Sitwell did survive the ordeal.
My mom doesn't like it because the good guys get killed so much of the time and the main characters are the "bad guys". I can have problems at times with that as well but it seems like everyone has their reasons for doing what they do and no one is outright evil.

Date: 2013-05-10 07:28 pm (UTC)I thought that at first then the more I watched, I can to understand they aren't really "bad". They'd been indoctrinated to believe America to be evil. I mean look at Phil, his eyes were opened and for a time he wanted to defect. *shrug*
