Wonder woman

So with Batman being in Superman's next movie, the hope is that we're finally getting that Justice League movie. I say hope because they keep putting it off.
Do you think Wonder Woman would have to wear pants to be respected?
Is her original outfit too sexist?
Will they allow her original origin story?
Does she have any chance of having more to do than Black Widow in The Avengers?

If they need protecting from a male, they just pulverize him.
The important aspect would not be making her costume "politically correct" but rather to make her character one where it was literally irrelevant.
Wonder Woman is supposed to be beautiful. She is supposed to be all that makes women wonderful. Yet she owns herself. She's not going to be told to "cover up" by some man trying to shame her.
The trick, would be to write the character of Wonder Woman, and the attitudes of the other characters and the show itself, in a way that showed that Wonder Woman was completely a woman, and also respected.
That she's not just there as mindless eye-candy, but is a powerful character in her own right.
If Superman and Batman can be buff and still be respected and not just treated as beefcakes, then Wonder Woman should be allowed to be beautiful and curvaceous, and still respected.
Write her as a character, rather than a set of legs with boobs attached, and what she is wearing will be irrelevant.

Date: 2013-07-22 02:27 am (UTC)She only got four minutes less than Iron Man and Captain America but...
She didn't have her own movie, did she? Now, they're doing baby steps with the new Captain America film which they're now describing as a team-up but...
Then, that's making people ask which superhero should Wonder Woman team up with?
Natasha and Diana shouldn't have to team up with anyone, they deserve their own films.
Plus, since I agree with you that Natasha did the most in The Avengers, it pissed me off to see people say stuff like...
The only female Avenger is sent in to use her vulnerability as a weapon of interrogation.
There are at least two scenes that feel like she’s being “put in her place” by a more powerful man.
The phase “mewling quim” was utterly unnecessary and not at all in keeping with the rest of the dialogue, so why it used?
Then, they would complain about her outfit and how she seemed motivated by feelings for Hawkeye and blah blah
I was even accused once of having "rose-colored glasses" that I couldn't see Whedon's sexism.
I agree that I missed her not really having a scene with Pepper or Maria but otherwise, she was pretty damn awesome...and actually, my answer to my own question would be that DC is going to crap out and WW's plotline isn't going to be nearly so good which means the audience will less than endeared and they'll use that as an excuse to maybe not even do a WW movie, team-up or otherwise, at all.
