So now I'm kind of like...maybe instead of rooting for the Justice League movie, we should want a Teen Titans movie instead?

Wonder Woman seems to be the only female member of Justice League but Teen Titans has Starfire and Raven as major players with other females who come and go. Beast Boy is awesome...I've always loved him but Cyborg has been winning me over lately. First, I was reading some of the comics and then, I watched Teen Titans Go! and he kept bringing up '80s pop culture references.

Yes, I like Teen Titans Go, it's not the same as Teen Titans but then, Iron Man: Armored Adventures, The Super Hero Squad Show and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes are nothing alike either and that's okay.

Well, if they did the JL right, we'd have quite a few female members; Vixen, Zatana, Hawkgirl, Powergirl, Supergirl, Black Canary, just to name a few possibilities.

It depends on the set-up of the JL, but Zack Snyder did a pretty good job representing females in MOS, so hopefully he can continue the trend (if DC doesn't interfere too much, or replace him for some reason).

I suppose it's like before the Avengers came out. Everyone assumed it would be the classic Avengers line-up which included Wasp and Scarlet Witch. Instead, they went for a female superhero that had already been introduced in a previous movie but became an Avenger later in the comics.

Now, everyone assumes that the Justice League is the classic Justice League as seen on children's t-shirts. In the classic Justice League, there is only Wonder Woman.

What worked so well with Avengers is that five of the six superheroes were already established in earlier films. They didn't have to do a lot of introduction for the heroes.

You can get away with one or two new characters for a Justice League film but no more than that.

Now, from a female character perspective, The Dark Knight Rises was great. It passed the Bechdel test. It had a woman behind the entire thing and the most well-rounded Selina ever on film.

If they had Catwoman as a Justice League member or a fringe character, that would be awesome but I don't know if Nolan is going to have any connection with his previous films despite producing all of the new ones.

Now, Black Canary...Dinah Laurel Lance is actually a character on Arrow so it would be a big benefit to them to use the same actors from the tv show in the film. It's very plausible.

No, it's not Zach Snyder, who did Sucker Punch, or the Nolans that scare me. It's DC and Warner Bros. Neither are known for being female friendly or progressive or true to the source material and or characters.

With DC, I'm not only talking about when they didn't let Kate Kane marry her fiance but this:

I think the suicide thing is silly, personally. I get what the suicide hotline is trying to say, but ehhhhhhhhhhh, it's art. People can depict what they want, and they shouldn't have to hold back just to keep from offending a certain group. The joys of the first amendment, I know.

But moving on...

I guess you could say that the classic JL has just WW, but I mean, a lot of the fans will be familiar with the comics or the animated series. Hawkgirl was, and still is, one of the most popular characters.

But remember, we're still out a few years from JL. So I am hopeful that we'll get a Selina introduced (she's not really JL, but she has become a hero in her own right, recently joining another group to do good stuff).

I don't know the full plans for the DCU by WB, but I suspect that we will get the Batman/Superman film, a Batman film, possibly another Superman film...there's noise about a potential Trinity film (Bats, Supes, and Wonder Woman), plus there's plans to develop a Flash series or film.

I'm going to guess that they are planning to slowly introduce these JL characters in each film, and then try to bring them all together in the next five years do JL.

Hopefully they will use Hawkgirl, Black Canary, and Zatana.

How is that show, "Arrow"? I love the character, but I haven't watched the show yet. I always forget when it's on.

There was supposed to be a Teen Titans (animated) movie. It was announced. I got a postcard for it at a con.

Then they cancelled it and I've been sending the DC Animated team angry mental glares ever since. >.>
