Thor: The Dark World
Nov. 8th, 2013 12:55 amSo, what better day to watch Thor than Thorsday, right?
It was AWESOME. I had some fears that I would end up hating it especially with VERY heightened expectations but I LOVED it. Everyone was almost perfect and I feel like this was the Thor movie I wanted all along. I will have more coherent thoughts at a later date and a proper review.
For now...
SPOILERS
Skywalker Sound reuses sounds which I find amusing but in this case, I had to giggle. You're reusing sounds from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace for a Natalie Portman movie, really?
lol
My mom hates Darcy. I like her but I don't understand how she is still an intern after 2-3 years. We've decided she should have been upgraded to Jane's unpaid assistant.
Tom Hiddleston's Loki is almost completely based off Kid!Loki because this movie really used the "Everyone thinks I'm a monster. I have to play with it. It's kind of my super power." card but he and Thor were both able to use it to their advantage and their last scene properly together? DAMN!
My Mom: After he died, I kept waiting for him to show up again...I thought it would be sooner.
I was also giggling at the irony/karma/etc. of dying so similar to how you killed Coulson...
If Loki was impersonating Odin, does that mean he killed Odin?
Jotunheim monster is on the loose in London!
Me: Is that going to be a future SHIELD show?
My Mom: Or Primeval.
Make it a crossover and that's the most awesome thing EVER!

Date: 2013-11-11 07:00 pm (UTC)I really want to see a fic, where Tony, Bruce, and Jane all corner Thor and badger him with science questions. And he'd be all like "Dude I don't know, I'm just a warrior, you should ask my brother."

Date: 2013-11-12 11:06 am (UTC)OMG, I NOTICED THAT TOO.
Odin is sleeping and Loki holds the throne. :]
Loki should keep him as a pet and call him George.

"Your birthright was to die," is Odin's version of my mother's, "You ruined my life." Ouch. Actually Odin, I'd like to point out that Jotunheim is still Loki's birthright...considering he committed patricide and is now the only living heir to that world's throne. also, i WONDER IF Odin IS TELLING LOKI THE TRUTH ABOUT HOW HE WAS FOUND. Odin has lied about everything else to Loki, why not the reason he was in the temple? Not the be thrown away, but for protection? Was Loki placed into the temple for protection or was he a sacrifice to the Gods of Jotunheim for victory against the Aesir?
In other news, I wonder how true Loki's show of emotion was with Frigga's death. I would like to believe that it truly upset him, but I really don't know if that was just a scene he was playing out for Thor's benefit. Maybe he thought Frigga wouldn't come to any harm, or maybe her death was part of the play. I don't know.
I do think, as you said long ago, that Loki is still working with Thanos to assemble the Infinity Gauntlet. And by working with I mean one day betray...
Now I'm waiting for Sigyn to show up in one of these Thor movies and I hope she gets a better story arch than her original one in the comics.
