Does anyone know any natural alternatives to Immodium AD?
I don't need it now but I'd like to know for the future since I'm definitely allergic to Immodium AD.

oversteeped black tea, fennel tea, Underberg liquor, there's a bunch of stuff. Yoghurt helps, too

It's probably a good thing you're allergic, anti-diarrhea meds like that are terrible for your gut health anyhow

What the other responder said - avoid the anti diarrhoea meds. If your body needs rid of something that badly, just let it go! Squits are the body's way of getting rid of poison. And dairy.

Yakult is delicious, though, and helps restore balance, but I'm obsessed with Yakult.

Whatever you put into your system, make sure it's not too hot, and if you drink fluids, sip, don't just gulp it down.

If it lasts for a few days, think about investing in some probiotics, to get you back on track. You can try marshmallow root too. It comes in capsules.

And try chamomile tea. That always helps.

The BRATT diet: Bananas, Rice, Applesauce (not apples), Tea (lightly brewed), and Toast (again, lightly done).

Go easy on the dairy if you're lactose intolerant; that will make things worse. Avoid fruit juice and spicy foods, stay bland.

Pro-biotics might be good also, for long-term gut health. That's why some people here recommend yogurt with live cultures. Just be aware that these are bacteria. When you take antibiotics, you might also be killing them, so you need to be careful in your timing and make sure to re-stock when you're done with the antibiotics.

Might I recommend talking with your physician or a pharmacist as well if you have one you trust? If not, you should find one you can trust that won't belittle your concerns about meds and give you good alternatives.

Right... one more thing... be sure to drink plenty of water! You don't want to dehydrate.

Laurie Butrick There are a few natural remedies but to know which one, you need to know what the cause of needing it is. A lot of times better to do nothing as the body is removing toxins from your system

Kim Caley Agree with Laurie - let it GO and stay hydrated...and find out the cause. Bottling it up may make you even sicker

Tami Pietrosanti Brown The same thing you give a child for diarrhea....the BRAT diet....bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. And drink lots of fluids. The diet is low in protein, fat, and fiber which helps firm up stools. But its only short term recommended because its low in nutrients.
