The Librarians
Jan. 1st, 2015 01:30 amSo, I was totally excited about The Librarians even though all I knew of the previous films was that they have Noah Wyle and Bob Newhart.
But the new series has Christian Kane! and I heard Leverage people were involved so I had high expectations.
But I had to work like forever because it's been the holiday season so I DVRed the pilot and didn't get a chance to see anything until this past Sunday. For an episode about as dragon, I really thought there'd be more...you know...dragons?
Then, Noah Wyle was acting crazier than when Carter was on drugs and it was...cheesy.
But I used to like cheesy, dammit!
So, I watched the pilot and it does make things better. I now know why Noah Wyle is acting so weird. However, what I really loved was when my mom commented, "He looks like a younger version of the guy from ER."
"It is."
"But I thought you said this was new."
"It is new."
"Then how...never mind...I thought he was on that Spielberg show with aliens."
"I don't know, that's during the summer, maybe he can do both?"
Christian Kane is awesome as always. As soon as they said Oklahoma, I knew that's where he was getting picked up. When I watch the first episode of Angel, he looks like such a baby in comparison and no, still not over Lindsey's ending, probably never will be.
Cassandra Cillian is the half-sister of Winnifred Burkle, right?
Even though I am an 80s child who watched Night Court and even The John Larroquette Show, he will always be "the dad from 10th Kingdom, lol. It's nice to see him not being an asshole.
I was very excited about Jane Curtin and Bob Newhart being in it, but then, they were written out. I do understand why with Bob Newhart since he's 85 and probably wouldn't want to be tied down like that, but it still made me sad. Speaking of Bob Newhart, how AWESOME was that ending to The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson?
It's fun and cheesy. I don't think I'll be DVRing it like I did with Leverage or Warehouse 13 but if I happen to be available and it's available...why not? I was amused that the ending of the pilot was so similar to The Sorcerer's Apprentice but they also both dealt with Merlin relics so maybe that was appropriate?
As it's based in Portland, I'm expecting to see crossovers with Leverage, Grimm, Portlandia and Audrey the cellist.
OOH! THEY HAD AN EPISODE WHERE BRUCE CAMPBELL PLAYED SANTA!
I NEED this.
The same episode was directed by Jonathan Frakes for my Trekkie people.
