Marvel Waning

One of the saddest moments is when you realize that you don't feel the same way for a fandom that you used to...

I still love Marvel and I know like my other fandoms that I'll never truly leave it, still write fanfic, still watch, still buy merchandise...

But I don't care like I used to...

I realized that today when I saw a Tweet about a Doctor Strange theory and it even involved Loki, I should have cared, I should have been excited...

I wasn't.

I was in between not caring and I hate how it's different than what I imagined...you read all these lovely essays and fanfic and theories and the actual films can't live up to that anymore...

I've Reblogged some of the Doctor Strange photos on Tumblr but do you know what makes me the most excited about those photos?

Nepalese culture and Chiwetel Ejiofor

Everyone's still complaining about the Civil War trailer we won't get for another month and I don't care there either. The television shows are the exception to this. I still watch them faithfully.

Don't even get me started on the newest Hawkeye comic, that's a rant for another time...unless the not caring starts extending there, too.

I'm pretty much in the same place with Marvel. I'm still watching the movies and the shows but that level of excitement I used to have is pretty much gone.

But it's okay, I have new things to get excited about. I think as long as you're excited and passionate about something it's all good

In my case it's over exposure. Just a little too much Everything-Is-Marvel. A little too much Everything-Is-Superheroes.

I feel that way about PotC. I still love it,but I'm not terribly hyped for DMTNT. It still seems very far away.
