The Rules:

To be on my annual list, a film must be seen in a proper theatre or auditorium setting between 12:01 AM January 1, 2015 and 11:59 PM December 31, 2015. It cannot have appeared on a previous list. Films will also be ranked by favoritism as well as quality. If a Film was done well but not a film that I would ever willingly watch again, then it will be lower than one that I saw three times during its original run.

2. Selma
3. Tomorrowland
4. Straight Outta Compton

So much love for The Man from UNCLE!

Glad to see I'm not the only one who has issues with Kingsman.

I loved Tomorrowland. I even watched the television premiere on Starz last week.

Inside Out was quite low on my list actually. There were some things I found problematic with it.

The Good Dinosaur made dinosaurs...boring and my mom is still upset with the ending three months later.

I will always be sad that it didn't get a sequel. People just don't understand quality sometimes.

Ugh, I know...I was actually worried I'd have more flack over that. My mom didn't like it either.

I didn't think The Good Dinosaur was great, but I enjoyed it. It kind of plays like a poor man's The Lion King.

I don't understand how people love it, but I think the people who love it are aware of its problems.

I was just cheering for the bad guys, who seemed less bad (apart from their drastic approach of saving the Earth by killing humanity) than the supposedly good guys, and I'm definitely not watching a sequel.

Umm...no, well, not to me...

To me, The Lion King is Hamlet. It has the abstract villain of a young man having to face up to adult responsibilities that are multiplied by being heir to a throne, but it also has a very real villain of an uncle who killed his father to usurp the throne himself.

The Good Dinosaur suffered from a very weak, minor real villain and the rest being abstract villains like fear.

Actually, the case could even be made for Arlo or dinosaurs in general to be the main real villain since they keep the humans in a very low state, basically reduced to rodents.

I'd compare it more to a poor man's Brother Bear.

Well, for one thing, the "bad guys" were all minorities while the good guys were all white guys...again.

So yeah, I wished things could have been reversed.

Brother Bear, huh?
Now I will have to compare those two. :)
