It is adorable, but why were they on TV, instead of with their parents?

It's possible they were already being hand-raised. It's not uncommon for animals born in captivity to have to be pulled from their mother or rejected by their mother so the zookeepers have to hand raise them. Males are usually kept separate from infants until they're sure they won't kill them.
