Christmas Came Early
Dec. 12th, 2020 01:26 amALL the new things from Disney and what I think
Beauty and the Beast series-
It focuses on Gaston and LeFou so it could be an alternate telling of the film or a prequel...I like the idea of new Menken songs, but not looking forward to that one-sided love story.
Swiss Family Robinson-
It can't be worse than that one in the '90s with Sarah Michelle Gellar and it's good to remind everyone why there's a giant treehouse at Magic Kingdom.
PERCY FUCKING JACKSON!!!-
Like it's supposed to be a proper re-telling with Riordan being more involved and I really hope this goes as well as A Series of Unfortunate Events for Netflix because I want Thalia done right and Nico's crush and going all the way to Magnus Chase...
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers-
It has Lauren Graham so that alone obligates me to see it.
Turner & Hooch-
Do you know which film wasn't a good idea for a six and a half year old to see? Yeah, I couldn't decide between crying and rage because the DOG DIED!!!
*side eyeing making that into a whole series
Big Shot-
Eh, high school basketball, lol
The Mysterious Benedict Society-
I've never read any of them, but it has Tony Hale and Kristen Schaal so I'm sold
Will Smith-
He appears to be making a new space series and that's extremely exciting because One Strange Rock is one of the best Disney+ offerings right now.
Only Murders in the Building-
STEVE MARTIN AND MARTIN SHORT...TOGETHER in a series!!! I need no other information.
The Dropout
Kate McKinnon plays a con artist. I really hope it's good.
Dopesick-
Again, awesome cast but...dealing with the opioid crisis so...pass
Reservation Dogs-
I thought the title sounded stupid, like is it related to Reservoir Dogs, BUT it's by Taika Waitit so it's probably awesome.
Y: The Last Man-
I have never read this comic, but I will try the series.
The Handmaid's Tale-
I have never seen this. I get tempted and remember how it's dystopia so probably incredibly depressing so I watch Pirata & Capitano instead.
Nine Perfect Strangers-
From the people who brought you Big Little Lies which I didn't watch either...
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia-
Remember when FX was so desperate for programming that they had a contest for new series and then, bought this pilot shot for $200 and now, it's going to be the longest running live action comedy currently airing?
Alien-
Desi is going to hate me for this, but...I've never actually seen a full Alien film although I like the premise, feminism and art direction of the series.
The Stones-
Seriously, a fictionalized retelling of The Rolling Stones
Shōgun-
I hope this is as good as Warrior because my mom LOVES that one and it does look really good.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
FUCK YEAH! Ahsoka cameo, yes? I read that Obi-Wan novel...not my thing, but wouldn't be too bad in tv format.
Rangers of the New Republic-
I have to admit I wondered why they kept popping up in The Mandalorian. I realize they're the law and you need that contrast to the Imperial remnants/First Order but still, it felt...up to something so this wasn't a total surprise. I'm curious who will end up in the cast. Will Dave Filoni's character pop up occasionally? Also, I NEED Shara Bey and Norra Wexley.
Ahsoka
*sighs in happiness* Now, to find a recurring character for Ashley Eckstein to play...
Andor
It's in pre-production so no actual footage, but IT IS HAPPENING! I love Rogue One so much. I can't wait to see more about the Fulcrums and whether he interacted with the original Fulcrum, Ahsoka. He's also just such a mystery and unlike Han Solo, I want to know EVERYTHING!
Star Wars: The Bad Batch-
If you saw the last season of The Clone Wars, you saw their backdoor pilot. It could be fun and...the question remains whether they may have been doing a rescue mission at the Jedi Temple when it fell...
Star Wars: Visions-
Apparently, it's an anime anthology?
Lando-
DONALD GLOVER OR WE RIOT! I admit it could be nice if this includes what the Solo sequels would have had, like with Enfys Nest and Black Sun...
The Acolyte-
A mystery thriller so I love how they're branching out like Marvel the way I wanted them to, but none of the High Republic stuff has come out yet so I don't have a real opinion.
A Droid Story-
Hehe, every Star Wars film is A Droid Story...
Willow-
YES!!! I wasn't always on board, but then I saw the Doctor Who episode, Nightmare in Silver. Have you seen that one? Warwick Davis kicks ass in that one! He's like a proper action star and that's when I wanted a Willow fully comfortable with his powers.
Rogue Squadron-
Fifteen year old me would have been squeeing non-stop. It's Patty Jenkins, there should be no hesitation from 37 year old me, but...I want Rogue One to be remembered and for them to explain how that honor came about as well as flying in missing man formation and retiring the Rogue One callsign. Again, as always, I would also like Shara Bey, Kes Dameron and Norra Wexley. Will Sebastian Stan play Luke Skywalker?
Indiana Jones-
I thought it was a new tv series, but it's the new film...not directed by Spielberg or Lucas. I don't disown the last one. It had some good parts. I do wonder what to do with the last one and will it be dedicated to Sean Connery?
Untitled-
Taika Waititi does Star Wars and is hopefully given full reign...
Children of Blood & Bone
I still need to read that one.
Hocus Pocus 2-
I'm curious what a sequel would be like and I'll see it eventually.
Three Men and Baby-
I love Zac Efron doing comedy...please be buttering him up so we can have a High School Musical Reunion, I need to know what all of them are doing now. Is Gabrielle a senator? Is Ryan in a loving relationship with a male lyricist? Is Sharpay teaching drama? I NEED to know!
Cheaper by the Dozen-
Great cast and timeless plot
Sister Act-
Who's going to fill Whoopi's shoes???
Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers
GIMME! Still upset that you're ending DuckTales but GIMME!
Pinocchio-
Live action and directed by Robert Zemeckis with Tom Hanks and...I don't actually like The Polar Express that well?
Peter Pan & Wendy=
Umm...how will this one be different?
Disenchanted
That is the name of a hilarious Netflix series, but other than that, I LOVED Enchanted. My only request is that Enchanted had Idina Menzel and she never sang, not once despite being a Broadway GODDESS...well, Demi-Goddess under Bernadette Peters. Now, it's post-Frozen and...she's going to sing, right???
Diary of a Wimpy Kid-
An animated version actually makes more sense...
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild
My favorite character!!!
Night at the Museum-
A new sequel where...the kid gets a job at a museum at night? I have no idea.
Jungle Cruise-
I saw the trailer in 3D back in the good old days. I was excited then and I'm excited now. It just looks fun.
Cruella
Emma Stone as Cruella? Yes, gimme
Lion King prequel-
Wait...what? Why?
The Little Mermaid-
Whenever Lin-Manuel Miranda is involved, I'm there.
Raya and the Last Dragon
I hope all the regular theatres get this, too.
Encanto
Have I mentioned how much I enjoy the musical stylings of Lin-Manuel Miranda?
Baymax-
The Big Hero 6 series was pretty good.
Zootopia+
I still haven't watched Zootopia.
Tiana-
Gimme...this is after she's married and successful, right?
Moana-
Off exploring the Pacific, getting into adventures? Gimme
Iwájú-
This actually deserves more attention. It's a science fiction series set in Nigeria from an African comic book company.
Win or Lose-
Pixar's first tv series, this will feature a softball where each episode is a different member. Considering Inside/Out, this should be good.
Turning Red
I honestly thought this was the dentist's niece from Finding Nemo when I saw the poster. We'll see. I do love Red Pandas.
Lightyear-
I really thought this was some elaborate internet prank that Chris Evans would play the Buzz Lightyear in the series that spawned the toy.
And it's not a joke! I'm intrigued.
Luca
I thought they were making a film about the spider, but that's Lucas. This sounds like a typical coming of age film so we'll see what the Pixar twist is.
Dug Days
Dug copes with his new life away from being experimented on. It seems kind of obvious, doesn't it? It should be good.
Cars-
Lightning and Mater on a cross-country road trip...like Route 66? That inspired the original film in the first place? Naw, I think this is awesome.
Ms. Marvel
YES!!!
Secret Invasion
Finally, that ending to Spider-Man: Far from Home has a pay-off.
Ironheart-
YES! But I say it like Napoleon's brother
Armor Wars-
I'm hoping that's after Ironheart and we get to see her with Rhodey, but we'll see. It's nice that Rhodey finally gets to star in something.
WandaVision-
So near and so far and I can't freaking wait. The newest trailer clearly has Darcy who I hope will be utilized better. I also really hope that's Agatha Harkness even though they call her Agnes.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
Proper Zemo? Please?
Loki-
Oh, Loki...if this was before Infinity War, I would be beyond excited but now...they took away all that character development when they killed him and now it's like this AU Loki...
Do we watch him go through the same development? Do they keep him more as a villain in a sort of suicide squad deal? Will they ever allow him to be pansexual and/or genderfluid? I did spot that shot that looked almost exactly like the Vote for Loki cover. *fingers crossed*
What If?
I was actually more excited before I saw any of it. Eww, zombies, lol. This is actually Chadwick Boseman's last appearance as T'Challa and it's interesting that it's him being StarLord...I had wondered how Yondu would be in this.
Hawkeye
It's so fucking beautiful. The run by Matt Fraction and David Aja remains my favorite Hawkeye series and every photo I've seen so far can almost be matched up exactly to panels from those issues. YES!!! I just wish Natasha wasn't so very, very dead...freaking bastards. I do kind of like the idea of Yelena and Kate teaming up and maybe being BFFs like their predecessors.
She-Hulk-
Please be good. Jennifer can go either way. Some writers just GET her and others don't seem to know what to do with her. I wonder whether this could also be a way of getting into Bruce's backstory that hasn't really been addressed since Edward Norton.
Moon Knight-
I'm not too familiar with his story but OSCAR ISAAC! You have no idea the level of awful I've watched for him.
Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
I basically want this to be like the music video for Guardians Inferno and since James Gunn mentioned his love of the Star Wars Holiday Special, I think we might be on the same page!
I am Groot
Oh Guardians, how I've missed you so very much! Baby Groot misadventures that we missed out on between movies!
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Cassie gets powers, right???
Fantastic Four
Yes, this is happening, please do a proper introduction and make Doctor Doom as empathetic as Magneto because he's supposed to be. Also, please go far enough with sequels to have Valeria and Franklin.
Black Widow
What an awesome cast...but she's dead, you bastards.
Shang Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings
Does Michelle Yeoh play Aleta Ogord again? And I will watch anything she or Awkwafina is in
Eternals
Please be good, please be good, please be good...I still remember Inhumans...
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness
Horror...dammit, but directed by Sam Raimi and it has him teaming up with Wanda...that's one of my favorite comic team-ups!
Thor: Love and Thunder-
Taika Waititi again, but my main problem with Ragnarok was the mass genocide with little emotion so I think we're safe with this one. It's cool that they're doing Jane's breast cancer storyline, including Mjolnir.
Black Panther 2
Everything is so fucked...maybe we could do the Worlds of Wakanda comic?
Blade-
I have no opinion yet.
Captain Marvel 2
Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, yes!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
It's Rocket's turn to face his past and that means he'll probably die and I'll cry, but I understand. Also, mark Hamill still needs to be in it and I'd like the beginning flashback scene to be with Yondu to fit the theme.
Beauty and the Beast series-
It focuses on Gaston and LeFou so it could be an alternate telling of the film or a prequel...I like the idea of new Menken songs, but not looking forward to that one-sided love story.
