SPOILERS!!!
I want to post Diana saying, "I hate guns" on my Facebook and watch what happens.

Me: Wonder Woman will be the fun escapism I NEED today!

Wonder Woman 1984: Has people rioting and looting in DC while the presidency is overthrown in favor of a tyrant

Me: Fuck you

I didn't feel like that first scene on Themyscira was a waste since it reminded viewers about her childhood and set up the whole point that heroes can't achieve their powers through a lie. It was also a reminder that Diana had human traits and faults, like wanting things she can't have. Yeah, the whole thing was foreshadowing, but fun foreshadowing.

I was disappointed with the 80s element. I understand why it was set there, trying to link it to Wall Street, Gordon Gekko and what was supposedly the era of excess in order to warn against greed, excess and capitalism. However, Stranger Things has spoiled me in the usage of 80s items, lingo, songs and music. The first montage of everyone living in 1984 didn't feel like we were in actual 1984, but felt more like a false interpretation, like when Back to the Future showing us 2015. Even the mall didn't feel accurate. They should have hired whoever dressed up the mall for Stranger Things.

You had two years and the CGI/Photoshop still looked like it was 2002?

Tell me more about Etta Candy and what she did with her life

Sometimes, they would have stuff that Tumblr had and I really didn't think it would actually be in the film just like that

On one hand, they made Cheetah's story shorter and more film-friendly, but... (sigh) I hope things can be different in the future.

The screenplay was not the same people as the first film and it showed. I think most felt that was a bad thing, but two of the writers were Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns. I hate that Ray Fisher and others say that Johns is trash, but I've always liked his writing. I didn't LOVE the first film and at times, I felt like a bad female for feeling that way.

I'm sure Pedro Pascal is capable of a role where I dislike him, but this isn't it especially with that smile. Also, my mom complained that the commercials didn't have his mustache, but he definitely has that facial hair where it grows back five minutes later so I was always looking to see how thick it was. Sometimes, it looked like they just covered over it with makeup.

I was hoping that Barbara trying on clothes would lead to a seduction scene like Gal Gadot and Isla Fisher in Keeping Up with the Joneses

No seriously, there's fanfiction with Diana/Barbara or do I have to read the comics again?

Steve Trevor and Thor need to eat poptarts together

What kind of coma was it that the guy was in? He was totally fine when he met Diana later and his apartment was well taken care of, even the fish still seemed healthy in the aquarium. Who was feeding them and they conveniently didn't walk in on Diana and Steve having sex?

Steve and Diana in her Invisible Plane with the fireworks was worth the whole film right there.

Second best part is that I had been spoiled about Asteria being Lynda Carter so when Diana was telling the story, I was like LYNDA CARTER!!! You could even see her eyes and the credits scene was awesome. I assume she'll be involved in the spin-off series, but I hope they share scenes in the third film.
Also, I'm issuing a reminder that Lynda Carter's mother was born in Mexico and she's always been proud of her Mexican roots.

I thought Wonder Woman losing her powers was like Thor not being worthy, not that it would be tied to the wish itself

Hehe, random Jerry Lawler cameo!

Are all the Gods connected in the DC universe just like the Marvel one? Do all the Gods of all the lands have the same written language? Diana knows a lot due to her employment, but she also sounded more than academically familiar with the God tied to the stone? Unless I heard the name wrong and it wasn't Mayan? It turns out to be Dolos so I heard wrong and never saw it in print anywhere. You would think that would be important.

The National Treasure Problem- Dammit, don't fight in the White House. Don't fight in the Capitol either. BOTH have priceless artifacts!

However, best shot of the film? Max talking about how he wants to have ultimate power with Andrew Jackson's portrait looking on approvingly in the background

It's sad seeing the familiar footage of rioting in DC and knowing real life has no Wonder Woman coming to save us

Diana is worthy of Mjolnir

I was told how there would be a flashback scene with Max, but I really thought it would be earlier. There was a lot of stuff hinted at in the film but barely touched on: sexism, racism, colorism

Diana is pansexual. I wish the films would reflect that better.

I was warned about the racism so I was expecting worse, but it also seemed anti-Irish/Scottish/Ginger?

Did you really just release a Mylar balloon? Seriously?

Yeah, we were also very mixed about WW84 (although we watched it before the attempted coup). There were parts that were great, but also parts that made us kind of irked.
