Macho Man

Macho Man died today.

When you have older siblings, you never really get to pick what to watch on tv. Early Saturday morning and weekday afternoons were mine, otherwise it was a lost cause. Occasionally, I would get to watch the Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show at 11 AM on Saturdays, but usually, it was this.

Then, when we would borrow or rent a VHS player, my brother, Mark, would borrow vhs wrestling tapes from his friends so we could watch Summer Slam, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. You see, Pay Per View wrestling events used to be RARE instead of every other week.

It wasn't cool or normal for a girl, but I did finally admit to liking wrestling although until The Rock came along, my favorites were always those with kick-ass pets like Koko B. Ware and The British Bulldog...Matilda was awesome!

The sad thing about wrestling though is that they come to such tragic ends that having a heart attack and crashing your car doesn't seem too bad. Still, I know he will be very missed in Tampa Bay and wrestling.

Koko B. Ware and the British Bulldog (RIP) Koko is still alive.

Yes, "Tama" considers Dwayne Johnson as a cousin.

Day 02 – Your favourite episode

Fragments, no question. It was practically a perfect episode. To me, and possibly because I did grow up on Joss Whedon and Chris Carter, the best episodes are the ones that make you reevaluate EVERYTHING but in a good way where it all gets flipped but still makes sense, even more sense than what you thought was true before.

Fragments excels at this especially with Owen. I know the Dead trilogy is supposed to be Owen's finest moments, but I think this and Captain Jack Harkness are better. He's so vulnerable, so tragic here. It's horrible but I love it.

Also, even when episodes are supposed to be a particular character, it can still feel like they were shortchanged. Here, everyone gets 8-10 minutes, just them and/or Jack. It's wonderful especially the segment with Ianto. ;)

Who can resist a dinosaur on the loose?

Day 03 - Your LEAST favourite episode

Children of Earth: Day Five

I know, you thought I was going to say Day Four but while I hated seeing Ianto die, EVERYONE ELSE died in Day Five! WTF?!

I DO NOT enjoy watching a ten year old bleed out of his orifices and die especially in front of his family. Then, earlier, we had to listen to a quadruple murder/suicide with a gun.

It pissed me off from beginning to end.
