Shakespeare Uncovered
Feb. 16th, 2013 01:52 amPBS has been having a fabulous series entitled Shakespeare Uncovered and it's all online! FULL EPISODES!
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/shakespeare-uncovered/video/
I'm not sure which countries are covered but it's worth a shot.
Each episode is hosted by a different actor who has acted in that role or play before. It's really interesting and has awesome hosts.
Macbeth- Ethan Hawke, this one was okay probably but Macbeth is my favorite play so I loved it.
The Comedies- Joely Richardson, I missed this one.
Richard II- Derek Jacobi, I will always love him for his roles but I had a hard time with his personal views here...still, Ben Whishaw, woo!
Henry IV & V- Jeremy Irons and Tom Hiddleston... *dies*
Hamlet- David Tennant... *reincarnated only to die AGAIN*
The Tempest- Trevor Nunn, in college, Nunn was the man, the expert in putting on Shakespeare plays.
Oh right, that's another thing, my History minor was based in Victorian and Elizabethan history, including a whole year of studying Shakespeare plays.
