The Simpsons' Couch Gags

The Simpsons have had some great couch gags lately and since the local station is bad about cutting it off or playing it earlier than my DVR is expecting, I end up watching them on Youtube.

The first was written by Guillermo del Toro. Part of me is happy because it's so awesome and part of me STILL WANTS THAT HAUNTED MANSION MOVIE! Film the naked, kinky Hiddles and then make the Haunted Mansion movie we always wanted!

I wonder if they're going to kill off Mrs. Krabappel. Poor Ned...

If Wes Anderson made a horror movie...

It reminds me a lot of how he looked in London. Someone on Twitter claimed his publicist banned topless shoots after that.If it's true...considering he's topless, nearly naked or wearing skintight clothing in all his recent movies...well, it seems a bit pointless...

Once again, thanks to Joss Whedon for that...he specifically asked for the Captain America suit to be skin-tight, filmed all those ass shots and is the sole reason why Thor: The Dark World has a scene of Thor topless.

Steven Moffat on Frobisher

As you may recall, Capaldi guested as Caecilius in Fires of Pompeii and also played the unpleasant politico John Frobisher in the superb Torchwood: Children of Earth. Unlike Freema Agyeman and Karen Gillan, these are two significant roles and The Moff has revealed that he is “not going to ignore the fact.”
I remember Russell [T Davies] told me that he had a big old plan as to why there were two Peter Capaldi’s in the Who universe: one in Pompeii and one in Torchwood. When I cast Peter and Russell got in touch to say how pleased he was, I said, ‘Okay, what was your theory and does it still work?” and he said, ‘Yes it does. Here it is…’


We’ll play that one out over time. It’s actually quite neat.

There is also some interesting news about the nature of regeneration, and why the Doctor ends up with a particular face.
The face is not set from birth. It’s not like he was always going to be one day Peter Capaldi. We know that’s the case because in The War Games he has a choice of faces. So we know it’s not set, so where does he get those faces from? They can’t just be randomly generated because they’ve got lines. They’ve aged. When he turns into Peter he’ll actually have lines on his face.
So where did that face come from?

Frobisher and Children of Earth remain canon.

It's hard being a Torchwood fan. There were things that were wonderful. There were things that were horrible but the worst part is the possibility of greatness that it held. As upset at the time as I was, I now wonder if getting out when he did was the best thing to happen to Burn Gorman. Since then, he's had sixteen different roles on film, American television and British television. He's worked with Christopher Nolan and is going to be in his second Guillermo del Toro film...the one with kinky, naked Hiddles.

Slightly off-topic...

When did people become so bad with not labeling stories that have character bashing? I first became acquainted with it through Torchwood but now I'm finding it in Avengers stories with Steve Rogers of all people!!

Sabrina, Secrets of a Teenage Witch

Has anyone else been watching this?

At first, I was over-protective since that was my TGIF teenagehood but Sabrina is Archie Comics' most marketable character and it has been a while since the last spin-off animated series.

However, aside from Salem and aunts, this re-imagines everything which is GREAT! Now, it's not appointment television. I wouldn't use DVR space on it but if it's on, I'll watch. I love what they did to Salem with the earring and everything and Harvey is now A WEREWOLF! How awesome is that? They also have this antagonist for her whom I've named Loki. I don't know his real name but really...how can you call him anything else?

They even had an episode revolving around Frost Giants although they were more cuddly looking.

Sabrina's voice is Ashley Tisdale.
