Remake vs. Cover, Part Two
Jul. 9th, 2014 09:07 pmSo, it turns out I am a dinosaur. I will try to keep this in mind in the future that the world has decided things whether I like them or not.
I was raised by family members, friends and teachers that there was a specific difference between "Cover" and "Remake" with songs.
I am not crazy or part of a social experiment with this. I have found links to prove this.
cp found this one:
http://www.history-of-rock.com/cover_remake.htm
Don McLean aka the guy who wrote "American Pie":

I had also found an article from 1996 but now I've lost it again.
So, I'll try not to be visibly upset when someone uses it wrong but inside, I'll still be seething in the same way that my mom gets upset over not pronouncing the -g in -ing words or people used to get made at slang.
