American Idiot

I just finished listening to American Idiot again. I find it sort of sad how it was supposed to encapsulate all the feelings specific to 2004 yet feels remarkably current every time I hear the album.
At the center of the Earth
In the parking lot
Of the 7-11 where I was taught
The motto was just a lie
It says home is where your heart is
But what a shame
Cause everyone's heart
Doesn't beat the same
It's beating out of time
But then, maybe that's part of what makes it brilliant.
Today is Jack Davenport and Ron Weasley's birthday.
It is also a day to remember a martyr who died so that the world would be saved from a terrible evil. He did this despite being born a slave and being of diminutive size. I'm speaking, of course, of Dobby the House Elf. According to Facebook, today is Dobby Remembrance Day.
It's kind of pathetic but watching it makes me think of that very first time I ever read Deathly Hallows. It took me putting it in the freezer for a bit, being consoled by friends and watching an episode of Coupling before I was able to make it past The Prince's Tale.
