Well, of course, Severus is the best (despite the movies trying to turn him into wallpaper at every turn /rant mode disengaged/)! So good to see him getting the accolades he so richly deserves.

When he beat Harry by so much, it was clear he was going to win this. Have never been prouder of Internet ppl LOL
He's been my favorite and by far the most interesting character since book 1.

Oh me, too, I was so happy about it, so awesome.

I admit that he didn't really start to be my favorite until they started having the movies and I saw how Alan Rickman was playing him...plus, I LOVED Alan Rickman since Dogma in 2000.

Perhaps he wasn't my "favorite" straight away (I didn't really have any favorites), but he did strike me as the most interesting character after the end of book 1 (it became quite obvious that he would be on the "good" side, yet he was still such a delicious bastard!).
I didn't watch all the movies as they came out (some of them I didn't watch till quite recently) but Snape quickly became AR's Snape in my head, so for the last three books, for which Snape was definitely my favorite character, it was Alan Rickman's Snape.
As for the movies, I actually watched them BECAUSE of Alan Rickman.

And now I've discovered Snarry and my Snape universe has expanded quite dramatically. Not in a million years did I think I would ship Snape/Harry, but they've become my OTP!

I thought it was very appropriate to have Snape as July in the 2011 calendar I received for my B-day a few months ago. The book series is his basically his story, too. He's just been lurking in the background...

I haven't seen a lot of people point it out but other than Harry, the only two characters to have been title characters twice have been Snape and Sirius.
